Pelsker
Hi! I wonder if anyone of you have got experience with `german sable`? Sometimes I see it called stone marten, but not sure if it is the same. I just missed out on an auction on ebay with a really nice jacket made of german sable, and would love to hear if some of you know if it is comparable to russian sable in terms of softness. Pelsker
And here is the link to the coat I considered buying. Looks really soft. https://www.ebay.com/itm/256023045374
LeComte
I saw a stone marten/Steinmarder lately in our street. These beasts are known to damage cars, loud and they get into the roof of buildings...). The "German sable" could also be European pine marten / Baummarder. It's a relative to the American pine marten. I can't tell you so much about the difference. German Wikipedia has quite some information about them: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marderfell https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fichtenmarderfell https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fischermarderfell
furs limited
Marten is generally more coarse than actual Sable. Nice coloration and usually a rather dense underfur. I have a short scarf that is quite pleasant under jackets.
