What is your opinion of sellers who constantly model the furs they are selling you?

Hey all. So as you know I have a history of trying to sell my furs on eBay and usually when I model the coats or pieces I’m trying to sell, I just take a handful of pictures from instances where I either wore the fur on vacation or modeled it for the sake of the auction. But what is your opinion about the sellers who will routinely wear these furs over the course of several months or years while they are in the process of trying to get their pieces sold? Are you more or less likely to buy the piece because you know it’s been worn by someone else? Or would you prefer to buy a piece that is in like new condition and was mostly only worn for the initial sale/post?

If I knew they were constantly worn, I’d bring it up. But it’s kind of hard to prove. What’s your ebay link? Maybe you have something I’d want

Panther10, it all depends on where you sell them.  If the garment is in good shape, nobody would know if you wore them a lot.  Lining is in good shape, no wrinkles, etc.  If its posted in here in many pictures, then we would know you wear them a lot.

I think most buyers would like a garment in good or like new condition.  Plus it's worth more.

Yeah I only brought this question up mostly because I follow people on Instagram like Miss Larissa/Lorafox and Larafurs and both of them tend to wear the coats they have for sale for a night on the town and I was just wondering how effective of a sales strategy that is for them Greg furs does this quite frequently too and he seems to get a ton of sales. But for me, whenever a fur I have goes up for sale I immediately go into preservation mode. I send it to my furrier so they can clean it, and then only take a handful of pictures and then never wear it again. It just stays in the closet until it’s claimed or shipped off to a buyer

Personally whether or not it has been worn doesn't make much difference to me. What matters is having actual / accurate pictures of the item. I prefer that over items that are advertised but still need to be made because then you never know what you will actually get. When I get pictures of the real item, I am more likely to buy. BTW I do have to admit I find it exciting when I receive a worn fur coat that still has a female scent like a perfume.

To be honest most perfumes and makeup products are terrible for a fur coat because they dry out the leather skins and makeup can stain a fur and it is so difficult to get out. I’ve had enough trouble trying to remove skin oils and makeup stains from previously owned furs  that it almost financially wrecked me trying to get rid of them. One such stain was a $650 repair because the coat had been irrevocably stained from sweat

Wearing and video furs being worn like what Greg furs does, well, yes I like those videos and it shows how the coat wears outside.  How it flows on a person. Yes, I can see those videos being helpful in sales.  So yes, it does make sense to make a video like that.  After the video is made, then I would say it's best stop wearing it and get it ready for the sale.  When I look at some eBay or Craigslist , sometimes I would ask them to take a picture outside jus to see wha tit looks like under different lighting conditions.  Some pictures are taken under poor lighting.  So yes, ok to video and take pictures while somebody is wearing it to display the coat, then put it away.
