Patience Posted August 31, 2006 Share Posted August 31, 2006 Practically speaking there is no difference. Technically the difference is that a man has no breasts, so you measure his chest. On a woman the chest measurement would be around the rib cage but NOT including the breasts. The bust measurement DOES include the breasts and will be bigger for a woman than her chest measurement. It's like measuring for bras. The number is the chest measurement. And the cup size is difference between the bust and the chest divided by 2. A=2" b=4" c=6" d=8" etc. The end result is that you need to know how big a garment must be in order to close properly. Most people do not distinguish between bust and chest. Hope this helps.
