dongleboy
I have a beautiful Dior Stroller that has some incredibly intricate detail. It fits me beautifully but my wife, who is extremely supportive of my fur wearing, thought it was just too feminine. So, alas, it went back into its bag. Courtybella
Hello first time poster here, I’m in a similar situation to you - love wearing fur but have confidence issues generally so add in wearing fur in public is quite scary. However, I have worn fur out in public a few times generally I’ve tried to avoid places with people lol but it’s unavoidable so I’ve chanced upon walking past people wearing my coat. They generally don’t even look which is good ! My wife extremely supportive, and wears fur out with me so I don’t look odd. With regards to style, try to find a male style or unisex style the coat I have on below is marketed as a ladies coat but it’s not feminine enough to look odd (I don’t thin anyway), I’ve another coat very similar colour and length wise but with a stand up collar which is also a ladies coat but look more manly. But the main thing is you enjoy yourself, don’t let others put you off doing what you want to do. The more us of who wear fur out in public the more acceptable it becomes. I’ve also lost some weight since this picture was taken so my self confidence is much better now.

Welcome, I understand when you begin for the first time on public, we have a sentiment of frustration and people only focus sure our but is important of don't give importance. You have a big luck of had your wife for support you and wear fur with you. This is great moments for together and also a great opportunity for wear your fur with a sentiment of happiness and relaxation. Feminine coat depending of the design and surely we find attractive in the design and of course design classic is more easily. Maybe find a furrier and see with him for make your coat with your favourite fur and design student with you.

Start with a faux or faux-looking coat. People are used to it and if someone's asking and your uncomfortable just say it's fake fur. Anyway, congratulations! And welcome! Courtybella
A picture of me wearing my other coat, this one has a nice high collar - this is the one I wear out in public as it’s more manly than the other one with the small collar. 1
Zaphod_bee
May the confidence with you - that does look totally fine ! It is not an especially fur looking into either gender, that means as most furs are created for females - it is looking great !
Jonasfoxluvr
Just a small update here of this thread, as it is my very first time being "complemented/commented" on my fur 🥰, and I can't wait to share it with all of you~~ I attended to my friend's wedding ceremony and banquet yesterday, which the temperature here in Hong Kong recently drops to below 10°C and I finally can put on my fur parka (with a big raccoon fur hood) for this full day event. At first, during the ceremony in daytime, I noticed that many people has put an "strange", "too exaggerated" eyes on me due to the big fur hood on the fur parka, which indeed made me feels uncomfortable. Still, I saw a female guest who wore a blue-dyed raccoon fur vest and a short mink jacket at the same time, which I bet she quite loves fur/fluffy clothing coz she put on 2 furs in the entire event... Anyway, upon joining the banquet at night, when I was waiting for the elevator for going to the level of restaurant, I saw a mature woman (maybe in her mid-60s) who wore a short sable fur jacket. While I stood next to her in the queue and she was talking to her friends, I noticed she also kept looking at me. When I was guessing if she was attracted by the big fur hood, she suddenly said "oh, what a huge fur hood and how fluffy it is" (in Cantonese), then she proceeded to caress my fur hood!!! I was shocked but also amused at the same time, because it is definitely my first time being "complemented" on my fur by a stranger. While she also said "it is more common to see a girl to wear/like a coat with big fur hood, how come a man does it too?", but maybe I was too shy to tell her that I have a thing on fur (my gf was just next to me and she doesn't really accept real fur), I just explained to that woman since I will travel to Japan by the end of this month, I will need this coat during my visit, where in Japan the temperature will be always below 10°C and there will be more windy than that of in HK. Although she didn't appreciate my fur parka directly, by what she has said and done to my fur hood, I definitely take it as a complement on my fur, and this experience really boosted my courage to wear my fur parka outdoor more frequently! Hope you like my experience too, and I can't wait to be complemented again in the foreseeable future!!!
Worker 11811
It all depends on what the person likes and how the garment, fur or otherwise, fits the body. Some furs, designed for women, have different shape and proportion to better fit the female body. If a large man, like me, wore a woman's fur it wouldn't fit well, it would feel uncomfortable to wear and it would look bad, in my opinion. If a man with a smaller frame than me wore a woman's fur it might look okay. It depends on the person. It depends on the fur. It depends on what a person likes to wear. I haven't got anything against men wearing fur, at all. If you don't like my opinion, ask Robert Peary, the man who first explored the North Pole: If Peary didn't wear fur he probably would have died from exposure before he even got half way there! As far as I am concerned, wear whatever the fuck you want to wear! If somebody else doesn't like it, put your thumb to your nose, waggle your fingers and give them the raspberry! In my opinion, people who think that men shouldn't wear fur can fuck off... All the way off!
WinnipegFur
Agree on the proportion etc... some furs Ive purchased I know very well that they arent going to be the go outside coat.. Luckily most of my coats are very large and bulky and will hit my knees or lower.. for me its usually the sleeve length that gets me.. I have a pile of full length coats, but the sleeves are just 2 inches too short, but it totally shows it doesnt fit... my full length lynx is like this.. its past mid shin on me being 6'1 but the sleeve length is just shy... picarenne
Hi! It's funny that you write about being complimented/commented on your furs, it happened to me recently, twice 😄 The first time was a male colleague, complimenting my long sheared beaver coat. The second time was actually yesterday, I was at a friend's birthday party. I was preparing to leave, and drive other attendees home. As I was putting a small fur scarf on, one girl commented that "ooh it looks so fluffy" and touched it for a second. Also interesting to note that I have never noticed any "weird looks". This is quite encouraging to wear more fur 😄
