ChicagoFurFan
Hello everyone, Young and enthusiastic new member here. I must admit I've been a longtime reader/lurker on a lot of this forum, but finally gained both the time and gumption to join. I am looking forward to hearing about everyone's different understanding of fur and our collective appreciation, passion, lust, etc. for them! The writer and romantic in me loves analyzing our desire for furs! I am a 21M, student, and originally from the Chicago area. Ever since the first time I drove by Andriana Furs in Chicago in the back of my parents' car, I've been enthralled by all things real fur. Though I primarily prefer to see friends/partners in fur and I don't own any fur at current, I'm certainly hoping in invest in some in the very near future - and any recommendations and/or assistance on this front is super appreciated, I know that the den is the place to be for fur expertise - when it comes to both shopping and wearing. Looking very forward to chatting with you all! Edited August 21 by ChicagoFurFan
FullLengthFox
H ChicagoFurFan, I believe fur in your area is quite popular. Welcome and I can really recommend getting some real fur of your own, it is there to be enjoyed, much like the forum.

It is, and it seems to be making a comeback even as a changing climate has made our winter a lot less cold and snowy. If you ever need furrier recommendations in Chicago, whether for new or vintage furs, let me know! I'm definitely excited to get my first furs soon, I come from an anti-fur family unfortunately, but I am looking to get some more "socially acceptable" fur products - like a rug or throw - before moving into the more classic coats and perhaps some full skins!

If you have any affinity for wildcat pelts like I do, I highly recommend checking out Glacier Wear- for their lynx pelts or their bobcat pelts! They have great service and have reasonable prices on great furs compared to some online sellers.
a_man_of_many_foxes
Welcome! Also live in the Chicagoland area (formerly Lincoln Park). My go to furrier is Pavlis Furs in Arlington Heights.
pnwhist
Oh my… welcome! You ARE in the perfect spot if you’re eventually wanting pre-owned pieces. From Craigslist, Facebook marketplace, to eBay - you’re in probably the most ideal spot to eventually obtain some gorgeous furs - from sing jackets to full lengths, from mink, fox, to Lynx from around $300 to about $800. Just be patient and the right opportunity will come. Looking forward to hearing about your future acquisitions! You have a very unique position to bring new energy into this community as fur appears to be a more acceptable fabric to wear out in public than most locations and it’d be nice to hear about the temperament from your perspective during the Winter season. Welcome aboard.

I can’t say I’ve heard of it, but I’ve only been to Angelo’s in Oak Lawn and Adriana furs in Beverly.
