Masie Was a Lady [1941] .

I happened to take a break while this was on TCM this afternoon. What nice coincidence to see an amazing Lynx coat on one of the minor characters.

A spoiled rich girl in a collarless style coat, but with deep, deep pelts.

Though may have been the only fur in the film, alone it was quite enticing.

It’s amazing how much fur is shown on ‘old’ movies from that period.  I suppose it was a shorthand way of emphasising the social class/wealth of the character.  My favourite is probably ‘All About Eve’ where Bette Davis’ character’s status is shown by her abusing her gorgeous mink coat.
