Removing a label from a fur scarf

Hey there everyone... first-time fur owner here.

Earlier this week I purchased this scarf from Louis Vuitton in Paris: https://fr.louisvuitton.com/fra-fr/produits/echarpe-en-fourrure-monogram-reverse-s00-nvprod1500022v/M75891. It was a real splurge, but when I tried it on in the store, my wife and I both loved how it looked on me.

My question is about the label. As delivered from the factory, there were two large labels sewn into the black fur side of the scarf: a small Louis Vuitton label and a much larger care label that came out from under it. They were attached at either end. The salesperson offered to remove the large care label, but what he did was to cut most of it off, leaving the remainder and the Louis Vuitton label. I'd really like to just remove them both. They're in a prominent spot right on the end of the scarf (which seems like a poor choice by LV to me). If I use a seam ripper and remove the threads that attach the label, will that cause a problem with the fur?

Thanks!

I did exactly this with a faux fur scarf last year but had to open the scarf. It's hard to say exactly what the construction of your LV looks like, but it should be simple to re-close it yourself and hide the new seams. You could get a cheapo scarf to practice on before trying your nice one. Or call up a furrier.

A follow-up to this. I didn't love any of my options I had been considering, which were 1) live with the label, 2) try to clumsily remove it myself, or 3) take it to a furrier back home to have them fix it. I realized that since I was still in Paris, I could simply take it back to Louis Vuitton and let them deal with it. I returned to the flagship store where I bought it and they brought out a sales associate to help me. I showed her the problem and her response, to paraphrase, was "I understand why you don't want that label there and there's no way I'm touching that myself". She took it to their tailoring department and brought it back about 15 minutes later with the label removed and in perfect condition. As I understood her, she watched the tailor work, who used a specialized set of scissors (not a normal seam ripper) to do the job. The fur looks perfect and I still have the label if I ever need it for resale purposes (not that I'll ever sell it).
