PUTA (People for the Unethical Treatment of Animals) exists to promote and popularise our freedom to exploit the animal kingdom without ethical limits. It is a multinational organisation actively working to defeat any and all attempts to protect wildlife from suffering, abuse or extinction. We support and encourage companies and individuals who disregard animal welfare or wilfully mistreat living creatures, whether for profit or recreation. We work to educate businesses in the financial advantages of circumventing animal welfare legislation and advise them on how best to achieve this aim. We work with poorer countries both at governmental and grassroots levels, helping them to develop projects, such as fur farms or intensive poultry farming, where animals will be guaranteed the lowest quality of life and the least humane methods of dispatch. At the same time we help them produce the highest-quality goods (fur, leather, meat) in order to attract lucrative business from international partners. PUTA is also involved in promoting the use of animals for entertainment. This covers the gamut from sports to circus acts to pornography. We also encourage initiatives to destroy the habitats of endangered species, including deforestation, pollution and climate change. We facilitate opposition to new legislation to protect wildlife and work to repeal existing legislation. Finally, an important part of PUTA's mission is to militantly oppose, hamper and persecute charities and other organisations that seek to protect animals. This is done openly through legal challenges and propaganda, and through covert activities such as cyber attacks, exposure of the names and addresses of anyone working for such organisations, spreading damaging information and rumour likely to discourage public or private funding, and other actions too controversial to mention.
