They are Eurasian cousins of the American Weasel and not much bigger than a ferret. As you can imagine because the skins aren’t that large it usually takes a large quantity of them to create a full length coat and while you would think it would be wiser to just lay the pelts vertically to maximize the length and thereby save material costs. But counterintuitively, if you stack them one on top of another and horizontally, you save not only time but you can more efficiently ad length and width to the bust, mid back, hips, waist and hemline for less operational costs 2 1
