I have never seen muffs used at events in my 40 year of fur watching . Maybe they stopped making them because ladies are no using it for it’s intended use?

I had a friend in elementary school whose mom bought her and her sister’s big fur muffs. They were pretty cool, and definitely real she actually talked about that! I think the mom may have had at least a bit of a taste in fur, she’d comment on her friends posts with fur and leather (we were close so I was Facebook friends with her mom after hs, lol)

We had a few fox fur muffs for sale at the fur shop I used to work at in 2019 but they never sold for as long as I worked there. We even tried having a few of the sales associates model our various pieces like our muffs but to no avail. They just weren’t really that popular.

I‘m a big fan of fur muffs. I like to wear them instead of gloves. It‘s important to have also fur inside rather than lining.

I love them too, and I have quite a few. It really adds to the fullness of the fur experience.

I have fur muffs for both my partner and I. We use them in the cold months when taking walks or going to parades.

All three are nice.  The white shadow fox and the Golden Island fox are terrific.  What is the one in the middle?  It looks like either Russian sable or baum marten. Maybe pine marten from Montana or Idaho.

I never knew that the muffs have a strap to hold them .

Muffs function as both a hand warmer and as a purse with an internal pocket for wallets, keys, phones and that sort of thing. There’s typically only just enough room for the bare essentials if you want to take your belongings with you. And if you do you can carry it as a cross body bag when not in use. Also most often a furrier will attach a muff to a set of removable straps so if you just want to use them exclusively as a hand warmer you can do so. And if you happen to carry a normal bag or purse with you when you go out, you can either clip your muff to the purse strap (provided it isn’t stitched or braided to the purse), or you can just stick it inside your bag if you don’t need it when indoors.

It looks like the sable fur from this World Book Encyclopedia page about furs.

As Panther10 said, muffs serve also as a purse/tiny handbag. When going to a restaurant or museum or theater I usually wear my sable. At the cloakroom I keep the muff and the sable scarf and continue wearing them inside. So I always have my personal belongings with me and can also still enjoy the fur.  For people such as me who wear fur in public and go to events a muff is really useful.

True fur muffs are more than accessories — they are pure craftsmanship.

Here's one from my workshop: shadow fox outside, sheared beaver lining inside.
