Guest
I'm a fan of Sting from his Police days. Was thinking about Sting's name while driving today.and the question came to mind: Are there any other famous individuals with a single word name straight out of the dictionary. Moon Zappa for instance doesn't qualify as it is two words, one of which identifies her as related to Frank Zappa. So far I haven't come up with ONE but then I'm not a celeb or pop star fan. Guest
Madoonna is a name. Prince is a title. I should be more specific and rule out "Names" and "Titles" to single word opjects, verbs, adverbs and adjectives. OFF

Worker 11811
Sporty. Ginger. Scary. Posh. and Baby. Sure, Elvis is his name but I venture that it is one of the few names that have become so synonymous with the personality that they become words unto themselves. "Fabian" would be the only other one I can think of that goes into that category.

Guest
Qualify: Peaches Pink Fish Edge [probably thoguh a GOOGLE search didn't show anything on the person] Don't qualify: Seal [his first given? name] Adamski [corruption of his real name and not in the Dictionary] Bono [not in the Dictionary] ???? Not any information. Ant [Adam?] Interesting that these are all British music groups. OFF
FrBrGr
Usher Why doesn't "Seal" qualify? It's his stage name, and it is in the dictionary. You know - one of those cute, furry little things that some people claim get clubbed to death . . . ?

Guest
If you haven't heard, hard even for me not to have, Police/Sting is going on tour. Hope to get tickets when they start off in Vancouver. Sting 'gave up' his real name, Gordon Matthew Sumner and goes only by Sting. He may sign checks or contracts as Sumner? Brief Bio: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001776/bio So we have: Sting Peaches Pink Fish and Usher Any others?? Madonna is actually her first name, Madonna Louise Ciccone Richie. Qualifies??? Elvis Presley would qualify along with many others under that rule. Stupid of me, Aqualung is Jethro Tull. Still a great performer. OFF
