A matter of opinion

There is an argument going on about the nature of opinion and its validity on the music thread in off topic.

 

What I would like to ask is this:

 

Is it possible to objectively assess the quality of a fur, or is personal taste?

 

What are peoples criteria for assessment?

 

Is it possible to prove the superiority of one fur over another?

 

I an think of quite a few different ways of assessing, and some would then come up with entirely different results....but I would like to know what other people come up with....particularly furriers....and wonder how different it would be to other peoples. Particularly pure fetisists which by definition is subjective.
