JGalanos
http://youtube.com/watch?v=8s21BBhVQDE Beautiful song from a talented lady. I saw her in concert about 6 months ago and she "wowed" me. And it looks like sunny skies, Now that I know you're alright, Time has left us older, Wiser, I know I am.

Close your eyes and give me your hand Do you feel my heart beating, do you understand? Do you feel the same, am I only dreaming Or is this burning an eternal flame? JGalanos
http://youtube.com/watch?v=uSmYvuvaJDg Slow day here at the Den. Ran across this video on youtube. Every time I hear this song I remember hearing it used as background music during a men's fur fashion show back in the (I think it was) 90's. Ah hey ma ma ma Life in a northern town. Worker 11811
I'm a snob when it comes to Christmas music. As far as I am concerned, there are only three valid Christmas songs: 1) The Messiah - Handel. (ALL of it!) http://www.peabody.jhu.edu/data/27/link/255/Messiah15-His_yoke-Hallelujah.mp3 http://www.peabody.jhu.edu/pcorecordings 2) Rudolphus Rubrinasus - St. Bartholemew's Choir. http://stbarts.whisperaudio.com/rudolph_rubrinasus.mp3 http://stbarts.whisperaudio.com/ 3) Linus & Lucy (Theme to Charlie Brown's Christmas) - Vince Guarldi. http://wilstar.com/midi/lucylins.htm
JGalanos
Worker ... You should consider expanding your list! Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices! O night divine, the night when Christ was Born; O night, O holy night, O night divine!

Worker 11811
Veni, veni Emmanuel -- Gregorian chant... In the original Latin, of course! Veni, veni Emmanuel;Captivum solve Israel, Qui gemit in exilio, Privatus Dei Filio. Refrain Gaude! Gaude! Emmanuel, Nascetur pro te, Israel! Veni, veni, O Oriens; Solare nos adveniens, Noctis depelle nebulas, Dirasque noctis tenebras. Refrain Veni, Clavis Davidica! Regna reclude caelica; Fac iter tutum superum, Et claude vias inferum. Refrain Veni, veni Adonai! Qui populo in Sinai, Legem dedisti vertice, In maiestate gloriae. Refrain You could sing the English translation but the rhymes don't come out as nice. O come, O come, EmmanuelAnd ransom captive Israel That mourns in lonely exile here Until the Son of God appear Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel. O come, Thou Day-star, come and cheer Our spirits by Thine advent here Disperse the gloomy clouds of night And death's dark shadows put to flight. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel. O come, Thou Key of David, come, And open wide our heavenly home; Make safe the way that leads to Thee, And close the path to misery. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel. O come to lead us Adonai, Who to the tribes on height of Sinai In ancient times did'st give the Law, In cloud, and majesty and awe. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel. O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free Thine own from Satan's tyranny From depths of Hell Thy people save And give them victory o'er the grave Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel. (Hint: Don't just look at the rhymes. Check the differences in rhythm and cadence.) Technically, this isn't a Christmas hymn. It's for Advent. JGalanos
Pretty song! (Chant?) http://youtube.com/watch?v=E2hsQS79YS8&feature=related Another favorite Christmas song ... Come to Bethlehem and see Him whose birth the angels sing; Come, adore on bended knee Christ, the Lord, The newborn King Glo-ori-a In excelsis de-o Glo-ori-a In excelsis de-o
Worker 11811
Nice song! But, no, it is not a chant. Chants are antiphonal. Angels We Have Heard/In Excelsis Deo is not antiphonal. Listen carefully to both songs. Hear how Veni Emmanuel is sung by two groups of voices where the relationship between the notes is always the same? Angels/Gloria is sung in multi-part harmony. Doesn't matter what musical form it was written in. It's still a good song!
JGalanos
Another favorite ... Which Kenny sang during his 2006 Christmas tour (which I saw in suburban Chicago). Please, celebrate me home, Give me a number, Please, celebrate me home Play me one more song, That Ill always remember, I can recall, Whenever I find myself too all alone, I can make believe Ive never gone, I never know where I belong, Sing me home. ThoughtFox
I've got to be honest, I've never liked her work, but this is not bad at all. The lyric is superior to her many other songs (although I suspect that has a lot to do with Diane Warren).
JGalanos
http://youtube.com/watch?v=yCTREMF22R8 I've been a fan since she released "Cuts Both Ways". I still remember the chills I felt when she performed "Coming Out of the Dark"live on the American Music Awards in 1991 -- Her first public performance since her 1990 tour bus accident. "Coming Out of the Dark" is one of my favorite songs. I seem to be a sucker for any pop song that includes a choir. Must be my Baptist roots. JGalanos
I love youtube ... One of my favorite songs from the 60's (sung on one of my favorite shows of the 00's) ... But how do you thank someone, who has taken you from crayons to perfume? It isn't easy, but I'll try, If you wanted the sky I would write across the sky in letters, That would soar a thousand feet high, To Sir, with Love
JGalanos
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjkNsHij19c Good things do come to those who wait! I've been looking for this video for the past few months ... And someone posted it right before Christmas ... Yippee ... How long must we wait to change This world bound in chains that we live in To know what it is to forgive, And be forgiven? It's been too many years of taking now. Isn't it time to stop somehow? Air that's too angry to breathe, water our children can't drink You've heard it hundreds of times You say you're aware, believe, and you care, but... Do you care enough To talk with Conviction of the Heart?
