White Fox
Folks, we would really appreciate it if you would fill in the "Location" part of your profile. We know that most folks do not want to give your street address. But you can at least tell what country you are from and not give any secrets away. This really helps us with parts of the site to know where everyone hales from. Also, we have a little project going on now where we would like to know if you are fetish or fashion oriented. Please leave a reply here to let us know, or if you are too shy for that, please let one of our mods or administrators know. We are doing some work on the site and it helps us so very much on this site to know which direction you lean in. Are you here because you are fetish oriented, or fashion oriented? Again, we absolutely guarantee that we will not pass this information on to anyone. Thanks White Fox Edited May 21, 2007 by Guest
Guest
Ok I'll play Both but lean towards Fetish by definition in the book. The limits of such may perhaps need to be defined as per yer server limitations as some peoples definition of fetish differs from one to another? Thx
Guest
That is a tricky distinction. IF you mean by fetish its required for sexual pleasure. No I have always been aroused by beautiful elegant and gamorous women . They were the ones that I was in awe of as a kid, on tv and IRL. Lets face it, furs are part of that. Regardless of what you may think now, so was smoking. So too immaculate make up, corsetry to enhance figure, and every detail such as gloves and high heels. So fetish wise, to me all those things are part of it. Hence I developed an interst in fashion. As I was interested in animals too. I learned all about furs; and loved seeing women in them but didn't do stuff in cupboards if you know what I mean. No disrespect to those that did. Use to touch them when possible; and it was nice; but that was all...and I did it with the women in it. They would always look with a knowing smile too. Now I think that is normal with most guys; and girls. Women get sexy when they FEEL good; and they feel good in furs, make up, stockings etc. There are those who resnt women like that, fear them and have such a low ego they think they cannot keep them. These are the men who make women feel like whores; they to me are evil, narrow minded and have torn womens traditional sexuality away from them. "Vanity" is a word these people use a lot with a negative tone. "Youre wearing too much make up", "skirts too short", etc) When we escort our ladies with pride on our arms, they say we have trophy women. Some other women are envious and call then tarts or "lady muck". But to me these people are perverse from what we are supposed to find attractive in women. High fashion should, often is, the best guiding light for elegant attarctive or "spirit of the age" female glamour. Sometimes it isn't, But the main houses..Chanel, Gucci, Dior; people like Lagerfield and Mugler, will always make women look incredible. And they shall always use furs to achieve this too. If they don't, ot will be fir ulterior motive. Off the record I was told a certain house deleted fur for publicity nothing more. They say they already will be reintroducing it soon. So I can get off on a woman in a Mugler dress. Really. If she has fur even more so. And THROUGH that interest in beautiful clothes and enhancing her look and she in turn feeling good, we have been able to acquire over the years more nice fashion pieces for my partner, and especially more furs (especially when I always realised that it had great conservation factors and helped aboriginal economies). Of course, one thing then leads to another. Fur is sensual. So the FASHION interest LEADS to the FETISH interest in those who did not have it to start. And when I say fetish, I mean as a stimulus TOUCH aswell as looks wise, not as a requisite in itself. What, you think Pete Doherty hasn't done Kate Moss in that new fox fur? Who wouldn't enjoy the sensuality of that? So is this distiction meaningful? It isn't to most women.

White Fox
I agree. I changed the title to reflect your comments at least somewhat. P.S. I just had a comment here that maybe we could add a definition of "Fetishism" or a "Fetish". Man, I really agree that would be great. And also have to tell you that is way beyond me. Anyone want to attempt that?

Guest
Fetishism is the placing of value not intrinsic on an object. So I guess in that way all fur lovers ar fetishistic in some way...sexual, spiritual, beauty, status. So I guess what we are talking aboout is sexual fetish, and the narrow meaning of th word. Which is; that fur is requird for sexual interest, and without it orgasm is difficult or impossible. In its extreme for, the partner is not even necessary and just the sight/touch of a fur itself is enough. Within these its a question of degree I think. In the SF forums for example there are people who have relationships with packets of cigarettes , through to people who even like mingers smoking, and others who don't even smoke and are repulsed by it but like elegant pictures of women with holders or atmospherics. So for clear definition here..... I think we all find fur sexy....it should be fur itself as the primary sexual motivator. Alternatively, that fur is valued as a sexual motivator though isn't essnetial; but distinct from just a fashion and occasional play item. As long as people know what they are voting about. Anyway; I think the distinction is hard to make at the moment for me; and I have come here fashion oriented. But hey I still like the sensuality and power of it too. MadisonAvenueFurPrincess
When I first remember seeing Fur Coats In St. Petersburg at 12 Years Old my attraction was to the fashion and lifestyle associated with Sable and Lynx believe it or not My father was very Poor as he had lost his Job under Mikhail When my Mother got remarried to an American Businessman and we moved to New York when I was 14, I remember her hugging me and that "magical feeling" coming over me when she first wore a Sable my Stepfather had bought her. I never "Played" with Fur until I was a college girl in New York and Mom had given me 3 of her older coats. I believe at that time I was developing a "fetish" for Fur. I think Fur not only reminds me of the days that we were rescued from Poverty, but my closeness to my Mother as well. It is relaxing to touch, stimulating and erotic to me all at once. MadisonAvenueFurPrincess
It's safe to say I'm obsessed then, I cant go into a department store or boutique without wondering if they sell Fur Coats, or not admire other ladies dressed in Fur.
frugalfurguy
Like so many questions about fur, this one ties me in knots. I'm not someone who in other areas of life seeks out luxury. Voluntary simplicity might be one way to describe my attitude towards possessions. I'm not attracted to fur because some recognized mavin of fashion put their label on it but quite in spite of that. It's furry furs, not necessarily modish ones, I like. Certainly I own that no other material has the erotic effect on me that fur does. That, too, definitely points towards fetish over fashion. But then there's a hitch. I'm working at integrating intimacy in my life and relationships. I should want sexual relations in my life to be in the context of an intimate relationship. I suspect that at times when I'm viewing particularly revealing pictures of women in furs that I cross a line beyond getting arousal from seeing the fur to sexualizing a stranger. For me it's a red flag to sexualize strangers. It means I'm going down a path of using people rather than respecting them. I've been mulling over which side of that line my own avatar sits on. In its favor, it is wholly a creature of fantasy, not being a photograph. Still, the pose and all tend towards the kind of photos I'd rather leave alone. That's a determination I'll have to make. Because of my emerging understanding of what a healthy sexual partnership might be like, I tend not to seek out explicitly fur fetish-oriented sites. This forum generally allows me a choice. If I go into the fetish part of the gallery, I have a pretty good idea that I'll be going against my values. For me fashion photos allow me to enjoy viewing furs and their libidinal effect on me without demanding a stranger expose her intimate physical self for my gratification. Still, even looking at fashion photos as a whole, there's plenty of variety. I generally don't like runway photos. I much prefer eBay fur photos with their varieties of settings and models. But are those down-home photos after all fashion? They certainly have a different flavor of fashion than your highly coiffed runway models. But they're fashion as opposed to fetish. Is there a third category emerging here? Compulsively unconventional, I'll try to find the holes in any box I'm supposed to fit in. As to disclosing my location, I'm sure I give away from time to time just by the spellings I utilize what country I'm from. At the same time, I'm not interested in outing myself, so in my profile I prefer to minimize disclosures. It's not like I live in Monaco or the Mauritius Islands where my naming my country would more or less give me a specific geographical location. It's such little information it might seem trifling for me to decline to state. At the same time I don't think naming my country says all that much about who I am. So for now I'll remain here officially stateless. frugalfurguy

Madison, I have been a member here for two years now. I can tell you that I have been treated with the utmost respect. Yes, a few may have been a little too persistent in a few pm's. But, once I made it clear, they were great too! Just as you say you have changed, I think the guys here deserve the benefit of the doubt! 8) Many of the old troublesome members are gone, or have mended their ways. Metruners31
That's tough to say that I'm one or the other, I love seeing the new style of furs on the runways but I also get that wonderful feeling whenever I touch a fur coat, I know that really doesn't help out a whole lot, but if I had to pick one I would say it's more of a fetish than fashion. Guest
I see you are form Bristol. I lived there from 1978 to 1984. It was AMAZING for furs. I once remember getting on a bus and there were over a dozen women in furs (including two blue foxes) and I just didn't know who to sit next to! Lol no wonder you are fetish oriented! All those thousands of coats must still be hung in wardrobes as you rarely see a fur in Bristol these days. Women used to try and outdo each other wearing them to work back then; even all the punkettes had furs. There were three furriers on Park Street and lots of vintage clothing shops all had furs. It was completely normal and encouraged by women to have sex in them.
