roninphy
Elizabeth Hurley is a celebrity actress/ model that has an affinity for furs. Not only is she stunningly beautiful when wearing furs, she is also like Kate Moss and Kelly Brook, British models /actresses who proudly wear furs undeterred by the fascist tactics of intimidation practiced by P##a. Here is my tribute to Elizabeth Hurley FMF Elizabeth Hurley in sable gillet Cheers Roninphy

FrBrGr
Others had always referred to Liz Hurley as "La La Liz," and I was like, yeah, yeah - She's OK - Never really noticing, until I saw this pic: and my reference changed from, "Yeah, yeah . . ." to "Ooo la la!" Fur + Liz Hurley = Great combination!!
FurLoverinFL
I LOVE Liz! The sexiest eyes of just about any person on the planet... wrap her in furs, and well, you got a pretty hot lady there! FLinFL
roninphy
Wow thank you FrBrGr and FlinFl ! I have to agree FrBrGr that the celebrity phenomenon is very odd to me. I fully agree that Liz Hurley is an Actress /Model who seems to have a natural affinity for fur. It is obvious that she genuinely enjoys wearing and being seen in furs . BTW these are HQ modeling shots of Liz not FMF composites! Cheers Roninphy Edited May 28, 2008 by Guest
Worker 11811
You are getting much better at blending edges and matching skin tones! Not too long will it be before we won't be able to find them at all! Thank you Worker, You are absolutely right the key is to maintain edge control and not give the human eye anything to pick out as "wrong". It is a lot harder than it looks . ( Well for me at least .. ) Face recognition involves at least four different area of the brain and humans are very very good at it. Take a look at the next posting , I think the Suzie Parker/ Monica Bellucci morph really worked well... Of course" proof is in the pudding" or least in the seeing ! roninphy
Monica Bellucci As you may have guessed Monica Bellucci is a particular favorite of mine. With her alluring sensuality and ability to connect with the camera, she is in a class of her own. A super fashion model who loves furs she has appeared in every major fashion magazine. She started in 1993 and is still getting better. She is my FMF muse. I love the way she proudly wears fur in her celebrity appearances. Monica has also played many" fur wearing" characters in her movie career. Notably the recent films "Combien tu aime" and Shoot 'em up. So Monica Bellucci in a 50's retro look with a gorgeous fur ! The original Clarke Henry 1953 image of stunning model Susie Parker My point here is that classic beauty is both individual and timeless. Both Monica and Suzy have classic features and proportions yet each image conjure up something slightly different, at least in my mind. See Humans to bring a lot of associations to face recognition. FrBrGr
First of all, RIP - Impeccable work! My God - Well done! The Bellucci composite looks like an original!! Second of all - My heart just stopped, turned over three times, and started beating again! Monica Bellucci is absolutely incomparable - even when she doesn't wear fur! In fur, she is beyond description. Her last name is certainly descriptive of the woman. Its rough, English translation - Beautiful! (Actually an endearing form of beautiful. E.g., I refur to "The Duchess" as, "My Bellucc'" - pronounced "My Bel-LOOCH.)
Guest
Great job ron I have to say though that since Suzy Parker has always been a heart throb for me [since 1950] that I'll have to cast my vote for the original. OFF

OFF Yeah, OFF - We come from the same school. Suzy Parker was, indeed, hot, hot, hot! In a sense, I guess it's almost sacreligious to have Bellucci's beautiful face attached to Suzy's bod, but . . . Suzy would understand. (Wouldn't she . . . ?)
roninphy
Uh Guys ... very interesting comments . Thanks to both Off and FrBrGr for sharing your thoughts about Suzy Parker. I am a huge Suzy parker fan. It is her magnetic attraction and enduring allure that compelled me to make the morph in the first place. In my original post I finished with this comment : "My point here is that classic beauty is both individual and timeless. Both Monica and Suzy have classic features and proportions yet each image conjures up something slightly different, at least in my mind. See - Humans to bring a lot of associations to face recognition....." What I am driving at is something I find intriguing about how we react to art, (in this case an image) namely the expectations we bring to the party when viewing it. More interestingly, is how our prior experience shapes our current expectations in a visual sense.I have noticed whenever I do a vintage style composite that somebody always objects saying the original was better or should not be tampered with. Point accepted if "tampering" was the intent - but it is not. I am reminded of a comment by the late author and Argentinian Nobel Laureate, Jorge Luis Borges who famously once said “The original is unfaithful to the translation.".. Of course that is the exact inverse of the complaint above. Borges was referring to literary translation where on occasion a translator goes beyond the boundary of the original work and finds an entirely higher order truth in re-creating the original in another language. I think Borges deeper meaning is that translation can infuse a work with meaning and significance that was not present in the original. It is like hooking up a train with a different engine and running it on a different track in a different country. It's the same train but the destination and ride are different. Here I am saying is "see that train ?"look how you feel about it when it runs in a different country". "My point here is that classic beauty is both individual and timeless. Both Monica and Suzy have classic features and proportions yet each image conjures up something slightly different, at least in my mind." Guest
Well put and we done ron. In my own memories of truly beautiful women Suzy Parker and Ingrid Bergman [whom she resembles] were at the top of any beauty list of any time. To have such truly classic beauties in my real time memory soft drive is a thrill beyond thought itself. Having them in furs is just too much for words such as Ingrid in her films such as "Notorious" .. what more can I say? OFF
roninphy
Classic images Marlene Dietrich and Kate Moss Thinking about the comments above . Do you think of Marlene Dietrich and Kate Moss as being similar ? Of course not ! However using "the the same train different country analogy", I sense a much closer kinship between the two. Note how both are are framed and defined by fur collar.Consider the implied emotional vulnerability as well as the allure and appeal of the following two images. Note how both are are framed and defined by the enormous fur collar. To be fair open the thumbnails and look at the full scale images. FMF Kate Moss in a Fur collar Marlene Dietrich in fox fur collar It is pretty interesting isn't it ? Kate fits into the late 1930's context seamlessly ( uh that's conceptually Worker (LOL)) But Marlene is in a class by herself. Austere ,vulnerable, challenging, exciting, all of those emotional tones framed by that fantastic swirling fox fur. Her fur is almost an aura drawing your gaze centerward. Kate in the FMF above pays homage to Marlene's classic pose and image but the impact is softened somehow. OK so what does Kate suggest to you ? (BTW Zero points for "I like Marlene better" The question is "What does Kate suggest to you ?" Do you see the congruence that I saw when I was thinking about he Marlene image? Have a nice trip and be sure to tip the conductor with a comment on the way out ...... Cheers Roninphy

FrBrGr
The comparisons and contrasts that you have created with your art is both stimulating and exciting, Ron. The points you have made regarding timeless beauty are also very poignant and very well taken! That's why, even though there are amazing contrasts, both within our experiences, interpretations and imaginations associated with both personalities, there are also amazing similarities. The common thread, of course, in both cases is that the women are . . . classic beauties. A case in point here is that I find it interesting that you see vulnerability in Marlene Dietrich. I readily concede that she defines the meaning of the words, "austere," "challenging," and "exciting." "Dangerous" also comes to mind. But vulnerable? Not a chance. Marlene Dietrich could reduce any man - or woman - to putty with a mere gaze, only to destroy her prey with her amazing, unparalleled sexuality. The fur only emphasizes the excitement and anticipation any man and many women would feel in her presence. It does, indeed, draw you into her web. Kate Moss, on the other hand, while sharing the characteristic of "classic beauty" with Dietrich, and indeed can seamlessly morph into yesteryear with her looks, in my opinion does not exude the danger and excitement of a Dietrich. While Moss does capture challenge and excitement with her aura (she is a remarkably beautiful woman!) I do see a vulnerability in Moss that totally escapes me when I look at Dietrich. The one constant, however, is that I am drawn into that beautiful face by that amazing fox fur. And that is where you have done a masterful job in bringing the two women together. The fur is the common, yet uncommon, denominator. Another job very, very well done! " title="Applause" /> Bravo!

Fr Br Gr I have to say that is a simply brilliant summary of the differences between Marlena and Kate moss. I think you are right about Dietrich she is in-vulnerable to the mere mortal. Thinking about her first film The Blue Angel she did destroy her" prey "with her implacable sexuality. Maybe what I was searching for was some way of expressing my feeling that beneath the smolder, Dietrich was somehow looking for something (that is not vulnerability as you point out) she was worldly wise yet incomplete and on a enigmatic quest to find that something. Here is Kate Moss recast more in a "Dietrich " like mold. The promise of her sensuality implied by the sloe eyed expression and disheveled hair . The elegance of her sable collar coat tempers the scene and sends a message. Kate's fur is an elegant frame contrasting with the implied sensual exhuberence of her pose. Her leather boots and the thick gold chain necklace collar underscore the theme of restraint albeit with a double meaning . FMF Kate Moss Sable collar sheared mink jacket Jordan AKA Katie Price Her is another contrasting image. Katie Price a former page 3 girl in England . Katie also known as Jourdan has made quite a career as mens magazine model, posing for Stuff /FMF and yes even Play#oy. She has done some film and TV, and has launched her own line of celebrity cosmetics . She wears furs in her appearances and is an eyeful- notable for her " Ballooning bust " and of course her reputation as a celebrity party girl. She is kind of the British equivalent of Carmen Electra and in fact the two have have modeled together. So I thought about putting Katie in an elegant setting . This time the surprise is her classical beauty and her de-emphasized bust ( Ah Ha bet you never thought you would see that from roninphy eh Linda ?
