Guest
A question about Fox Tails .. Red Fox in this case. Your opinions please. I'm having a Fox Spread made right now. It's a quality full pelt spread with part being a Red and Black Cross Fox 46"x29" and the rest of the 60"+ x 80" spread is Red Fox. The pelts all came with tails and we're figuring out how to best use them. Tails don't do well hanging except from rear view mirrors so we're trying to figure out just how to utilize them in the spread. The general overall design is "Rustic" with uneaven [follow the pelt edges] shape. There are no prizes fopr your thoughts OFF
Worker 11811
How many of them? How long are they? Normal fox tail size? Do you want to use them IN the spread or just a decoration apart from it? You could sew them together into some kind of decoration for the top of the bed or to drape over the back of a chair beside the bed. Or you could make them into restraints... JGalanos
Or you could make them into restraints... Often accused of being the "Sunday School type", that option did not occur to me. 8)
Guest
I have that question to the Furrier now. Waiting for a reply but there are 15 to 16 new Red Fox pelts being added.and 6 very big Red/Black Cross Fox pelts in the piece already made. I just uploaded the pictures in et cetera. Take a look. JGalanos
The cross fox skins are beautiful. I think they would make a beautiful coat or throw. I'll have to keep that color in mind!
Guest
Thanks worker. The Furrier [Jesse of American Furs] is stretching and stitching the Red Fox now. I have a 100% dark rust brown wool flannel lining. That works very well for both warmth, light weight and flexibility. It breaths very well also. No quilting. So I probably have 15 tials or so at maybe a foot each? They're nice and fat and fluffy OFF
Guest
You could always sell them on eBay. Tricia

Lil Dragonfly
Speaking of tails, I have an idea for what to do with smaller ones (mink etc.). Make a fur crop like this, except have tails instead of frills at the bottom.
