There's no consistant direction to the hairs. In most real pelts, the hairs all grow in one direction. A "grain", if you will.

 

And, it's not even a particularly good imitation.

If you want good synthetic fur, you have to get the kind of plush fabric they make Teddy Bears out of.

 

Whatever that "thing" is that she's wearing, it looks like it came from Wal-Mart.
