To keep stuff from ghosting through on your scanned picture put a sheet of heavy flat black or matte black paper behind it. It works wonders. I, too, have had really good pictures that had text show through and I thought, "Drat! It's ruined!" If I only remembered to do this! Thanks for the tip!
