brandy-uk
Can anyone explain to me how you get the pictures to pop up in your message box.. I am clicking on img..adding the image location. but it keeps saying to me that 'it is impossible to determine the dimensions of the image.. somehow I just can't seem to get this little thing to work.. kisses brandy xxxxx
Worker 11811
There's a quirk in the forum's software that causes a problem with that. We've come up with a workaround. Instead of "img" in the "post image" tag spell the word out... "image". [image]http://your-picture-here.jpg[/image] There's a button in the edit box, ^^ up there ^^ that will insert the correct tags for you.
Unclejoe420
Gorgeous new jacket Brandy!! Ok, it did look a bit like fox fur to me, but what the heck do I know? Have only seen one or two coyote items up close, and they seemed lighter in colour and a lot "fluffier"; am assuming that like fox, there are many types of coyote fur.. UJ PS reckon it should've been a hooded jacket!! hehehe
FrBrGr
As always, you look stunning in your furs, Brandy! Are those fur boots you're wearing in the pics? I see what looks like a fur boot in the third pic . . .

chrigi99
Nice pics, but the coat is not coyote. It's either dog (=gae wolf) or "nanny goat" (don't ask me what kind of goat that is). Even the coarsest of the coyote pelts you'll see (southern desert) will have a different texture and look, and those would come closest in hair density. I'm somewhat surprised no one else has noticed this.
ReFur
Brandy, now your comments about Coyote on another thread make sense. I certainly am not an expert on this but, I think the fur is dog. The goat I have seen has longer hair and a different look to it. But, I could be wrong. Linda

brandy-uk
Ahhhh.. now this might all make sense..why the pelt is not soft it is coarser than my other furs...the fur is not goat.. it is not long enough and has too thick a texture.. The coat may not be coyote.??? perhaps some type of dog??? Gae wolf perhaps.. it is possible... I have contacted the sellers last night......who have sworn to me that it is coyote...??? So now the great debate begins.... My Avatar is red Fox.. it is the softest and fullest of furry pleasure...and the avatar that Jersey fur lover uses is me in my arctic fox.. kisses Brandy xxxxxxx

Worker 11811
I have contacted the sellers last night......who have sworn to me that it is coyote...??? So now the great debate begins.... The seller is probably convinced that it is coyote and just isn't willing to entertain the idea that it is anything else. To do so would mean that he is either lying or is ignorant about fur. No matter what the truth, he believes he will look bad if he admits to it. When you get right down to it, he probably believes it truly is coyote. I have seen many coyotes live, in the wild. They are indigenous to the area where I live. I see them all the time but I have never seen a coyote fur coat. I would like to have one but I have never seen one in person. Only in pictures. As much as I like fur and have touched and played with it, I really only ever get to see the kinds of fur that are popular in retail outlets. Even though I know more about fur than your average person, I do have to admit that I am far from an expert. I simply looked at the coat in the picture and it appeared to be within the range of colorations that I have seen in live coyotes so I just assumed that it was. I'd be willing to bet that the majority of people here thought the same. This brings up a secondary thought to me: Does anybody have any close-up pictures of these various types of fur? Or, do you have some examples of this fur that you can take photos of and submit? We've always had a project in mind for the Fur Den wiki where we have picture samples of different types of fur with descriptions to match. We could put them all together on the Fur Den's server with descriptions on how to tell different furs apart. This page has been sitting, virtually untouched, since White Fox and I created it, over a year and a half ago. http://vdsden.thefurden.com/fdwiki/?n=FurInfo.FurTypes It would be nice if we could fill in some of those blanks. The next time we have a discussion like this one we could use our library as a reference.
chrigi99
TBH, if I were the seller I would keep claiming it's coyote until proven otherwise by a certified furrier. He's doing that to avoid refund claims and will keep doing so until proven otherwise. Did you get the coat from Ebay? I have seen numerous Ebay sellers who have no clue at all about the fur they sell. Especially the wolf - coyote - dog types seem to be difficult to them. If all the offers from Canadiancoats were indeed "arctic wolf" as they claim, the arctic would be pretty empty of wolves (there was one rare offer which was indeed wolf, but they sold it as coyote, rofl, 100% epic fail). I took another look at the uploaded pic from that "coyote" coat and from the detail on the left sleeve I think it's indeed dog. Nanny goat came to mind as those pelts have the characteristic dark back stripe, but the effect here was augmented by cutting the pelt and putting it back together in a feather pattern. On the positive side, you bought a coat you seem to enjoy, and can now look forward to buying yet ANOTHER coat which you'll enjoy even more
brandy-uk
I am really happy with my coyote or Gae wolf or nanny goat jacket... it was the colour that I was after..to match some soft brown lingerie that I have already and to create a coyote look for a great set of photos for my website.. I will go with coyote for a while..but I am extremely interested if it is a dog coat... I have never had one of those either...it is a shame there isnt a way to be more specific.. so it is all fun.. in every single way... also.. i really wanted a coyote with a hood.. so.. it is time to find another seller and see what we can do... he he he kisses brandy xxxxxx
Worker 11811
On the positive side, you bought a coat you seem to enjoy, and can now look forward to buying yet ANOTHER coat which you'll enjoy even more This makes it a difficult call. Doesn't it? Do you like the fur well enough to keep it and say, "Better luck next time." or do you persist in trying to get a refund or a price reduction? If the fur is worth more than you paid for it, keep it. If the fur is less expensive you will have to decide for yourself. If you enjoy the fur anyway, you should probably keep it and be more cautious the next time.
