This question has been asked before, but I would like to see the results of a fresh survey.

Please remember that the results are anonymous and you do not need to post a reply to vote, so everyone please vote.

If you think I left out an option of two, please tell me in a PM if you do not wish to post a reply. I can update the poll choices if needed.

Also I have setup this poll so that if you change your mind, you can change your vote.

I'm working up to it but I'm spoiled with all those soft furs against my body with just a T-shirt most of the time

OFF, (and others)

I consider the wearing of fur lined (other than with sheared rabbit) garments to be the wearing of fur, although it is a much less overt form.

I answered 'no for other reasons' and just wanted to explain. Here in south Florida, I've only worn my furs out twice since I moved here a few years ago. Just too warm, even during the winter for the most part. So fur better or worse, my furs are generally used as throws or as robes around the house.

Even here in the United Kingdom of PeTAphiles, I'll nearly always have something fur lined. When it gets cold I will put on my fox bomber (see avatar) or D&G hamsterskin coat, thought not very often as they are both overly attention seeking when compared to more something more conservative like a mink.

Absolutely ! Whenever I can living in Southern California. Thus I always try to find an excuse to visit cold weather locations whenever possible to wear my coats and encourage my wife to wear her furs too. However she often thinks furs as dressy -- or only wearable in upscale venues like Aspen or Sun Valley in the winter. I have to try to train her that it's OK just to feel good staying warm wherever necessary.

I wear furs every winter. Anything from sheared Beaver jacket to Crystal Fox and Golden Island Fox jackets. During the winter months they go every where from Home Depot, work, wherever..........Too bad the last ones are going into storage after work Wednesday. I will be waiting for Winter to come back.....................

Anytime possible. Sometimes changing coats from Wolf in the really cold early hours - 8 or 9 am to Coyote or Raccoon in the warmer later hours of the day.

As I only possess a fox boa and coyote throw, I am not really in a position to, although I have worn my boa on really cold days, tucked in as more of a big collar otherwise it looks too feminine.

just because i love fur, doesn't mean I like to dress like a girl!

I would love to have a long or bomber style coyote or fox with hood that I could wear out, but need pennies for that!

Be proud, and lets not not let PETA types quench our right to freedom.

I wore all of my furs this past season ... I was fur-clad in a dozen cities across the Midwestern and Eastern US. I'd guesstimate I wore fisher and coyote most frequently ... But mink and fox were not far behind.

Folks, I love this poll so much!

I can remember a time here when almost every member would have said "NO" and maybe even said that they would have liked to, but just believed it would be wrong to do so. They just not understand how it really was ok to do it. How much folks admired it.

Well, that is changing. And as we change hopefully others will follow us. Every little bit helps. And I am sure that every one of us who wears fur are enjoying every tiny little moment of helping to convince others to do it.

A big Thank You to all who participated in this poll whether you also left a comment or not. " title="Applause" />

The results are somewhat different than I had expected and provide a lot to think about. As White Fox stated, things are changing for the better.

Oh YES, most definitely!!! Without wearing my furs out every year, winter would not be tolerable. Now I pray for cold, blustery winters because getting out there in my furs is thrilling each time.

For the fur-wearing gentlemen with more than one fur ... How about taking it one step further and listing (1) your favorite fur, (2) your most conservative fur, and (3) your most outrageous fur?

For me:

(1) Favorite: It feels kinda like trying to choose a favorite child, but I’ll call it a tie between my fisher and silver fox coats. Both are beautiful and luxurious, but they are styled very differently.

(2) Most Conservative: Probably my mahogany mink jacket. Classic style and subtle, masculine color.

(3) Most Outrageous: Probably my crystal fox coat. Ankle length, huge (6’+) sweep, seriously oversized (8” wide) shawl collar, and incredible color.

Who will be next up to bat?

Although I don't own furs (Yet, of course) I would like to submit my favorites!

Favorite: White Fox hooded bomber, or a hooded full length (Can't Decide!!!:D)

Conservative: Longhaired beaver jacket, or a raccoon jacket/stroller

Outrageous: The outfit Liberace is wearing at 1:03 (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=zGh3jkb8zq8) It's this huge white fox outfit with tails dangling from it. OR I would get Cruella's red and black coat she wore in the end of 102 Dalmations (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=KkHKOybqv8k&feature=related) Of course these would be for around the house, never outside!! haha..... I just liked how extreme these were.

Of course! I have an Otter car coat, sheared beaver bomber reversible (I wear it both ways), and a couple of fur trimmed parkas. I also have a sheepskin jacket something like the Marlboro man but I seldom wear it now. I really like the Otter and will wear it everywhere. The last time this season was April 22.

Absolutely!!!

I wear my furs to work, shopping, anywhere, at any time.

I wear various kinds of Fox, Raccoon, Coyote, Arctic Wolf, and Mink.

I make it a point to wear my furs especially on Furless Friday.

Cheers!

Does sheepskin count? If so, then yes, I wear my sheepskin coat most winters. I'm really pleased with it because I got it in a charity shop ( US = thrift shop?? ) for £15 I suspect that it wasn't cheap originally as it's made by Baily's of Glastonbury who are an upmarket manufacturer I think. The sheepskin is pretty thick, it's very warm and I feel great when I wear it

It's a bit tricky in the UK because it's just not cold enough But I wear it when I can and encourage my wife to wear her ( hooded ) coat as well.

Regards

I think that the fur type you wear goes more with the temperature and or where you are. Some people would think that the city is the place where a conservative style of coat should be worn - raccoon, mink, beaver, etc. Think about what has caught your eye when you have been out and about, usually it will be the person that stands out in the long haired fur such as coyote, wolf, finn raccoon, silver fox, etc.. If one was to wait until they went to the country to wear their long haired furs they would probably miss out on the daily occasions that present themselves. As J Galanos has said on more than one occasion one must seize the moment and not worry about what others think - go for it. Sometimes people are more impressed with the fact that you have the bravado to wear your fur in public and they wish they had the same. Many women have said to me that they should get their furs out of storage and wear them but you know they won't due to what they think everyone will think of them. Well folks only 6 more months until fur season starts anew.

Other peoples' opinions are the last thing I think about when going out in public, no matter what I wear.

My wife has had nothing but positive comments any time she's worn her coat. When it got really cold out last winter she even started wearing it to the grocery store.

Even then, there wasn't a single person who said anything negative.

If there was any trouble, we are prepared to defend ourselves against anybody who would do us harm for any reason. Let's just put it this way: Any target within a 25 yard radius is well within "self-defense range"... ifyouknowwhatimean!
