FrBrGr
I just had a new computer (HP), screen (HP - 22"), color printer/copier/scanner (HP) and web cam installed in my home. Man, is this sweet!!! A whole lot different than using my laptop!
wallee
Sounds like a nice set up. I just recently purchased a laptop for work. Ended up with such a great deal I kept it for myself and let the boss find his own. $284 for a new Compaq dual core. Nothing beats the desktop with a 24" Samsung monitor though. Worker 11811
I enjoy a nice laptop computer but they can't hold a candle to a good desktop computer! Face it. The laptop computer makes certain concessions in screen real estate, keyboard size and mouse control in order to make it portable. Then the internal electronics have to be optimized for power consumption in order to make them run on batteries yet still have a usable lifetime between charges. Otherwise, the thing will have to remain plugged in all the time. What the heck are you spending all that extra $$ on a laptop for if you're always going to be "wired in" to your network and power connections? A laptop computer is a device created for convenience. Not speed, power and ultimate usability. I would not trade in my CoreDuo Power Macs for ANY laptop computer, no matter WHAT the operating system may be. If I'm going to be creating and editing video all day long, there's no damn way I'm going to do it on a laptop. Glad your computer is working well, FrBrGr! Maybe some day we'll be able to convince you to move up to Linux.

White Fox
Hate a normal lap top. (Like I am using tonight.) However!!! Add a mouse and an auxiliary keyboard and you are away instantly! But still like that tower. Hard to beat it. Glad to hear of your update BrGr W
Delphic Shadow
My biggest problem with laptops is that unlike desktops, it's very, very difficult to make a DIY build. Blah. That and I loathe every type of mouse substitute that has ever graced a laptop. I always just end up plugging a real mouse in and using that. Anyway, congratulations on your new computer, FrBrGr.
