FrBrGr
As attested by the number of jackets and full-length coats in my collection, a resounding vote here for blue fox!
RonGav
Long haired furs.. lynx, sable Oooo, foxes... but for some reason raccoon coats on women drive me crazy.. FurLoverinFL
I love my red fox (<-)! My favorite though is my coyote coat. This thing is sooooo huge it always feels like I'm wrapped up in my own soft, furry coccon. Problem is... this is the second coyote that I've owned and the leather has dried and is starting to tear. I'm afraid I'll be lucky if it makes it through one more season... Is the leather thinner in coyote coats? I'm surprised that this has happened (or at least been very noticable to me) to the 2 coyotes but has not effected any of my other furs? AKcoyote
Problem is... this is the second coyote that I've owned and the leather has dried and is starting to tear. I'm afraid I'll be lucky if it makes it through one more season... Is the leather thinner in coyote coats? Unfortunately some animals have naturally thin skin and thus make very thin leather pelts. This is especially true for foxes. Also because many people do not want a "heavy" garment, tanners frequently flesh out (scrape) the leather to make it thinner and thus the pelt lighter weight. While this reduces weight, it also shortens the life of the resulting garment because the pelts dry out much faster - even with proper storage and regular cleaning & glazing. Earendil
Any soft-haired and long-haired fur will make my peckar ten-hut. Fox and Lynx are definetily my favourites. It feels incredible towards your skin, and it has a look I would kill to be able to touch! Any women wearing a coat or accessorie in fox or lynx fabric will be able to make me do more or less anything.
frugalfurguy
Something about the combinations of colors and depth in red fox. It gives an impression like glowing coals or molten lava, an illusion of gleaming orange transparency that you have to question when you see charcoal or a cooled lava flow. And to have that kind of diabolical glow combined with such a deep, beckoning downy abundance. It's my quintessence of fur: a very earthly meeting of venus and mars, a fur-bidden concoction of heaven and hell. That's not to say plenty of other furs don't have plenty of appeal too, and culling a favorite isn't easy for me. I prefer full length coats and stoles to jackets. frugalfurguy

Guest
Yes I like Lynx at the top with the Foxes just behind with Sable. However Fitch and Stone Marten are up near the top for me. Fitch is certainly above the Minks in my book except possibly for the very finest. I have a new Stone Marten lined Buckskin hooded jacket. My next major project. Fisher is a near obsession for my current quest. It's up there with a Lynx as my next major purchases. Natural Beaver has also become a goal when I confused one at Ungar Furs for a Fisher It's a super fur and very durable. I also love the much under rated Squirrel OFF
foxkid
Arctix fox, Lynx, and rex rabbit are some of my favs I have. Would love to get a double sized arctic fox bed spread, or even a rex one (ideally double sided if it's rex)

Sealy
I'm new and completely ignorant but I think I prefer short haired furs. I'd have to look for something that isn't a red shade though because they won't suit me. I have a greenland seal jacket I got for Christmas last year because my SIL had too many negative memories of her ex tied to the jacket. http://www.abcskind.dk/pelse%20sael.htm 3272 looks the most like my jacket but the hood trim looks like that on 2814 as far as I can tell. Mine was bought in a mall fur/skin shop, brand 'Bison'. Right now I'd just like loafers and hat to match. Right now I'm still trying to learn as much as possible about seal fur care and furs in general. I'm worried about the way this jacket has been stored and the way I'm storing it, I can see a small tear in the lining that I'm pretty sure that I didn't cause because I've only worn it a handful of times for max. 1 hr. walking at a time. I've only worn it once in the car. I'll stop before I get too far off topic. My favorites might change while I learn. Most other women I've seen around here in fur coats have worn seal as well. I might've seen the odd fox. However, I'm no expert. I just know I've seen a few women wear something red that definitely wasn't seal.
White Fox
Just wanted to say a word of Welcome Sealy. Hope that you really enjoy it here. As for your jacket and care the best thing is to store it properly in winter. As for the tear, as long as it is in the lining that is ok. There are I am sure many stories here about torn linings in fur coats. It is fairly common. However, it probably does suggest that you put extra stress on it at one point, so if you can figure how you did that, then in turn you can avoid doing it again. Once again, Welcome to the Den.
