So... What did you all do today?

We made our traditional Fourth of July trip to the range!

I got a couple of good scores too! 16 out of 20 was my best.

Unfortunately had to work today; the airport was, of course, not closed. Have to work tomorrow and Sunday also, but that is the luck of the draw on the schedule.

A happy July 4th to all whether you're off or have to work.

Well, I have to work today too but, since I work in a theater, I didn't have to be on the job till 6:00 PM. Now that I've got the stage set and the show's underway, I don't have a lot to do except keep an eye on the show and make sure everything's running right.

Once the gig's over I can go home. If I strike the stage quickly, I can be out of here by 11:00 PM or even earlier if I hustle.

Usually I work on salary but this event is a special reqest. I get paid extra. Since it's a holiday I get paid time-and-a-half. (Calculated from my salary.)

So, yes, it's a bit of a bummer to work on the holiday but I already had my fun for the day. Besides, taking home an extra Benjamin for half a day's work makes it a whole lot easier.

Well, I wish I could report that The Duchess and I did all kinds of exciting things yesterday, but it rained for the bigger part of the day (as it has almost all summer) so outside activities were cut to a minimum. It was a rather pleasant evening, though. We live on the second highest elevation in our county, so we had a view of three different fireworks displays, plus all the ones the neighbors were shooting off. I've always been a big kid when it comes to fireworks, so I really enjoyed the spectacle!
