Zaphod_bee
You have a good point, white ! .. we may gain a lot more experience with Kangaroo-fur with our ambassador overseas ! I know that kangaroo-leather is one of the most durable existing. In addition the fur is said to be short but very soft. Maybe we hear of interesting fur-designs as well as knowledge about this fur from you, 999 ?! best of luck Zaphod_bee
fur999
Hi guys, Wow, what a great suprise to log on and find such a cool message from you all. Thanks Brandy for remembering. You are an angel! I have been pretty busy for the last few weeks packing stuff up, shipping some, selling some, ebaying some and putting some in my mum's loft. God bless mums You are right Brandy, as I am going over there to almosty start again, I may be out of touch for a while, until I can get internet connection somewhere, and get the gf happy with me logging onto the Den (obviously, she doesn't know about that side of me yet, but she loved the boa now modelled by Brandy so well). In Oz, there are a lot of roo skins around, I think that they are the only nation that eat and hunt their national symbol! In the outback, my gf's cousins go shooting for them sometimes, they are a pest in places. I will let you all know what I find out about their fur, it has always looked fairly course when I seen it, but never touched so I could be wrong. Thanks again for your best wishes, i fly out a week today, finishing work on Friday, fly on Monday. As I only have t'internet at work, I will be off line for a while, but will be looking forward to catching up with all the news and goings on in the Den when I can. Love you all, 999 xxx
Guest
Hope your move goes well 999. You know that Franklin thought we should have chosen the Turkey as our national symbol OFF

auzmink
Just a quick reminder that for us basking in the sun here, the Southern Hemi is cool at the moment. Canberra has been down to the 1-2'C mark (40 sometng F for our American cousins) so fur wearing is a possibility in Auz. Just as a side note, I too finally leave the UK shores end of August back to Auz! I've been before (obvious from the username) - and have never found Kangaroo fur attractive unless nailed to a wall as a showpiece. Now, Possum - different subject, especially what the Kiwi's do with it...... Auzmink.

Fancy a visit to Sydney? Got a spare room, there will always be room for you and yr furs! I have heard that Possum is good, althgough in Oz it is protected, but in NZ Possum bashing is a favourite past time?! I once saw possum fur nipple tassles on a web site, got quite excited! Brandy, if I find sokme, I'lll send you a pair , after I get the gf to model a pair too! I would be amazed to see fur in Sydney, as it is so hot and humid the rest of the year. I'll let you know... Mr Barguzin
As Auzmink pointed out, Kangaroo fur is more attractive on the wall or on the animal. Some wallaby pelts look like they might be more "fur" like as in having depth and body softness, but not Roo. And as fur Aussies wearing fur...... it's been damned cold here this last three weeks and as I type I am wearing my Amber coat, sleeping under blue fox....... and dreaming of what to do with 4.75 Million bucks.... If I am really lucky. So Fur999, welcome to Aus and good luck with the residence finding. And yes, don't furget your furs

auzmink
Might I just say, welcome back Mr B.........long time without your posts.... I'm flying into Auz mid-September after a 3 year sojourn to the UK, and my partner tells me she see's snow on the hills around Canberra this week whilst heading off to work....so it looks like we are heading to a fur wearing zone in our furture! Will be collecting my stored furs soon also - yahoo. Auzmink
