Guest
I'm familiar with the area. It is between nowhere and nowhere if you really want to get away from it ALL. It's not far from O'Neal, NB where I broke down one time in my VW bus. The local Lawnmower repairman fixed my bus. I didn't know about this however. I'll visit next time I'm traveling through Nowhere to get somewhere. I do that every year or so by car. Looks like they have everything .... except furs OFF
JGalanos
As mentioned in a previous post, I visited an area that was long involved in the historic fur trade earlier this summer. I was not familiar with the history or construction of the famed "Beaver Fur Hat" and was surprised at the lengthy process required to create one of them (documented in the link below). http://www.whiteoak.org/learning/furhat.htm
White Fox
Another site that is very informative on fur trade is this one. http://www.fwhp.ca/homepage.html It is indeed in Lynxette's area. An extremely beautiful area of Canada. And a very informative museum to visit. I was in fact there just today. W
alphonso
Nope sorry I don't know that one. However if anyone is lucky enough to be in the vicinity of Montreal there is museum at La Lachine. I hired a bicycle in Montreal old town and visited at the end of the season and was the only person there - which was a bit awkward as the staff were trying to have an easy day! I found it to be educational, informative and elucidating. It is not an sensory immersive experience though. If that is what you want go to a fur shop - there are lots in Montreal.
