Guest Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 Sengseal, a seller of fur pelts on eBay, told me that the highest-grade American pine marten is equal in quality to genuine Russian sable. I told him this is not true. Who is right? I cannot imagine that pine marten could be as soft and luxurious as Russian sable. Vince
Guest Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 Pine Martin is very fine indeed but no match for Russian Sable or even the best of Canadian Sable. OFF
ReFur Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Here is a little info on the pine marten. http://dnr.wi.gov/org/land/er/factsheets/mammals/Marten.htm
Guest Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Linda; Are they Farmed? I presume since it's another weasle it would domesticate OK for fur breeding. OFF
furnation Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 I don't think they do well in captivity. At least that's what my trapper friends tell me.
