Caring for fur lined gloves ...

Hopefully this is not a stupid question. I own a pair of high quality leather gloves with dyed-to-match (the leather) rabbit fur lining. Do I need to do anything special to protect/prolong the life of the fur lining?

Don't wear them very much. Seriously. I have owned at least a dozen pairs of leather gloves lined with rabbit fur, and have loved them all. But unless you don't plan to use your hands to grip anything, and you avoid wearing them in conditions where your hands sweat, the fur will eventually wear down, and you'll need another pair. Minimal gripping and lifting heavy objects while wearing them will prolong their life, but that is perhaps a bit impractical. I have usually gotten at least two or three seasons out of mine, and sometimes more. I have one pair that I've worn for about six or seven years, now relegated to yard work and such, but they're still hangin' in there!

FrBrGr's advise is sound.

If you wish to prolong the life of a bunny fur lining, avoid anything that will cause enough friction to break the hairs and especially avoid any situations that would lead to your hands sweating while wearing the gloves. Sweat will cause the leather of the pelts to dry out and deteriorate very quickly.
