Lil Dragonfly
Why are pictures not allowed? I think that it would be nice to have a picture of each fur type by the description. Also, why does it ask for username and password when you click some of the links? Here are some more fur types we could add to the list: Alpaca Bassarisk Bear Bobcat Burunduki Chinchilla Finn Raccoon Fisher Fitch Geoffrey’s cat Hamster Jaguar Kangaroo Marmot Mole Muskrat Ocelot Opossum Pahmi (Asian ferret badger) Possum Raccoon Seal Snow leopard Squirrel Weasel Wolf Wolverine
AKcoyote
Why are pictures not allowed? I think that it would be nice to have a picture of each fur type by the description. Images are allowed. If appropriate images are available in the Gallery, links to them would be the best way to provide examples. The upload facility has restrictions to prevent the Library from becoming a second Gallery. Also uploading has not been setup for the Fur Types section as we thought using Gallery images would suffice and probably be better and easier. Also, why does it ask for username and password when you click some of the links? If the link is followed by a superscripted question mark (?), that page has not been created yet and by clicking on that link you are saying you want to create the page and edit it. Editing the Library wiki is restricted to members, so the wiki needs to verify that you are a member. Also there are a few pages that have editing rights limited to admins or a group of members who maintain those areas. Again, the wiki software needs to confirm who is attempting the edit. Here are some more fur types we could add to the list: (list removed to conserve space) If one of the staff doesn't get it done, feel free to add the additional types to the index page of the Fur Types section. The detail pages can be added later. Any member can edit the Library wiki to add to or correct existing pages, or add a new section. All changes are saved and any oops or even page deletion can be reverted if needed. It is impossible to do any permanent damage to the wiki, so if you have something to add, try it - you may find it is easier than it looks. White Fox, Worker 11811, and myself are all ready to provide assistance if needed.

Worker 11811
I have about a dozen close-up photos of different kinds of fur available on one of my webspace accounts. (I have several. ) http://s107.photobucket.com/albums/m294/Cirrus01/Fur%20Types/ Most of them are pictures of synthetic plush but there are some mohair plushes in there too. There are also a few pictures of natural fur. The original idea of these pictures was to help the viewer differentiate real fur from fake. I've got several ideas on that subject. I have just never had time to follow through. But, if you find these pictures useful, go ahead and download them.
White Fox
Transferring this post back to the Den as everything in this thread is now saved in Wiki... It would be great though if someone could post a photo of each type of fur. The easiest way is to simply make a link. However, if you wish to post photos in wiki that is possible. Just contact AK before doing it so he can have all set up for you. This would be a terrific project. You will notice that I have posted this in two areas. One for fur type and one for durability, since not all types matched on each chart. W
