MrMockle
All, I wanted to tell you about my trip to London yesterday as I think you might like to hear the details. I had a long walk up and down Oxford Street and Regent Street several times and went in to a few of the bigger shops there. It was very cold and I am pleased to report that I don't think I have ever seen so many furs being worn in one day. I must have seen 40 or more real fur coats and jackets being worn, plus lots of fur trimmed coats and jackets and many fake furs too. I have listed a few of the best furs I saw: - A middle aged blonde Russian woman browsing designer clothes in Selfridges in a gorgeous white and red fox jacket. I complimented her on her beautiful jacket and she smiled back nicely and thanked me. - A pretty young Italian brunette woman in a lovely black coney coat on Oxford street. I complimented her on her coat too and got another lovely smile. - A glamourous middle-aged Japanese woman in Selfridges buying shoes, wearing a very nice long black mink jacket. - A pretty young Japanese woman (maybe a student) also looking at shoes in Selfridges wearing a cute pink rabbit jacket. - Another pretty young Japanese woman wearing a gorgeous white mink cropped jacket in John Lewis looking at clothes. - Another young Japanese woman wearing a short cropped black mink jacket on Oxford street. - Another middle aged Japanese woman wearing a long black rabbit jacket in Debenhams perfume section. - Another younger Japanese woman in a black rabbit jacket on Oxford street. - A young Japanese woman in a cute brown mink vest outside Bond Street station. - A younger Japanese woman carrying a white sheared mink jacket around Selfridges. - A young blonde Russian woman browsing several perfume counters in John Lewis wearing a stunning long white and golden sheared mink belted coat. Also saw her later on in Debenhams. - A pretty young Russian brunette woman in a short sheared grey mink jacket trying new make-up in Selfridges. - A young blonde Italian woman in Selfridges weaing a lovely golden brown mink jacket. - An older Italian blonde woman outside Marble Arch station in a brown sheared mink jacket. - A middle aged German blonde woman in a green sheared fur jacket with fox cuffs and collar on Oxford street. - An older German blonde woman in a raccoon stroller on Oxford street. - A middle aged blonde woman in a lovely sapphire grey long mink coat on Oxford street. - A middle aged English brunette woman in a long black mink coat in a mobile phone shop on Oxford Street. - A young English blonde woman in an older blue fox jacket on the street. - Another young English blonde woman in a white coney jacket trimmed in blue fox on Oxford street. - A gorgeous young English brunette wearing a grey belted coney jacket on Carnaby Street. - A middle aged brunette woman in a black sheared mink coat with sable cuffs and collar in Selfridges. - A cute tall young English brunette woman in a dark brown coney jacket in Oxford Circus. - A young English blonde woman in a golden brown sheared mink belted stroller on Oxford street. In additon to these I saw several other older women in long mink coats and a few younger women in coney/rabbit jackets too walking along Oxford Street. Plus I also had fur sightings on Brighton beach this week, spotting a couple of fox jackets, a middle aged brunette woman wearing a glorious long black mink coat and an older brunette in a lovelt black fox jacket over Christmas Day and Boxing Day. It was a delightful day and a great week so far - and two more very cold weeks here to come! Hope you all have fun too and see more furs this week too! White Fox
My God, I gotta move to England!!! Something about Christmas that always brings out the furs! But from comments here I am really noticing how furs are coming back there. To the point there seem to be almost as many there as here. In fact, sometimes I think there may be even more there now. MrMockle
WhiteFox, Well yesterday might have just been an especially rare day in London but the furs in Brighton were particularly encouraging. Just a short trip to central Brighton today but I saw a couple of coney jackets there, a middle aged brunette in a ranch mink coat waiting at a bus stop and a woman in a gorgeous hooded golden sheared mink jacket outside the mall. Out and about there further tonight and tomorrow and then back up in London's West End on Tuesday. Regards, Mr Mockle
samurman
I wonder if you took notes of those fur-clad ladies you saw while walking?! Or, do you have such a sharp memory that you remembered all those details while composing this post? Either way, it's a meticulous job, Mr Mockle, well done! MrMockle
Samurman, My visual memory is pretty good but after seeing so many furs I had to take a few moments to jot down the highlights late on Saturday night. A few things to report from last night and today: other than Ms Mockle in her burgundy coney jacket, the only other fur sighting from last night in Brighton was a middle aged Italian blonde woman in a black coney coat near the mall, plus a handful of fake fur jackets. It was very quiet out though as a Sunday night. Brighton and Hove were/was full of fake furs today, either black full length coats and strollers on older women or leopard print boleros and cropped jackets on the younger women and girls. Some real fur trims though and three real furs of note that I spotted around the mall: an older brunette woman in a black mink coat, a lovely young Italian brunette in a raccoon trimmed beige leather jacket and a younger English brunette woman in a cute white coney cropped jacket. Back up to the West End of London tomorrow for another long day of shopping and fur spotting! Regards, Mr Mockle

MrMockle
All, A change of plan today sadly; a trip to Crawley mall instead of London. Several fake furs but nothing too inspiring there until just before I left, when I saw an older German or Polish blonde woman in a gorgeous long golden brown mink in Boots perfume section. I complimented her on her beautiful coat and got another lovely smile and "thank you", plus a few moments of pleasant conversation as she invited me to stroke the sleeve of it. A delightful end to an otherwise dull day. Saturday is my return to the West End though so fingers crossed for more sightings then. MrMockle
All, A quick update on New Year sightings. I had a very trip to Brighton mall on Wednesday morning but did see one real fur: an older Scottish brunette woman standing near Starbucks in a lovely long black/ranch mink coat waiting for a bus. I complimented her on her fur and we chatted for a few moments about it and furs in general; she said her mink was a wedding present from 36 years ago but it seemed in very good condition. She seemed delighted by the news that my fiancee and other women were wearing more furs out locally too and hopeful that more women would wear real furs out too. She did say that the only hassle she got from wearing it was from groups of younger girls but they seemed easily placated by her telling them it was fake. As we parted, she thanked me for chatting with her and told me that our conversation had made her day - leaving me with a feeling of a good deed done! Then Ms Mockle and I had a New Year's Eve dinner dance up in East Croydon; I saw another older lady in a black mink coat in Brighton station and a middle aged brunette woman in a long brown coney coat in East Croydon station on the way too. Ms Mockle wore a demi buff mink jacket at stages during the evening including outdoors watching the fireworks and a few other guests wore fake furs but the only other real fur was a cute fox shoulder stole in a reddy/browny shade worn by a Japanese lady guest. Happy New Year to you all. Let's hope 2009's fur sightings are as good or better as 2008's ended! Regards, Mr Mockle
furrybob
I was in London for my wedding anniversary on the 29th December. I also HAD to do some shopping in Oxford St on the 30th, followed by Burlington Arcade, and Fortnum and Mason I was wearing (both days) my new(ish) MINK coat, MINK scarf, MINK hat, and MINK tie. I also saw lots of women in lovely furs, but no men. What were you wearing Mr Mockle? Happy New Year
MrMockle
FurryBob, I don't wear fur myself apart from a black leatherish jacket with fake fur lining and trim, which I wasn't wearing on those London trips. I've yet to find a style of fur that might suit me even if I wanted to wear one, although the coney jacket that I saw one a guy in my report post from yesterday was more along the lines of what I might wear rather than a long mink or a bulkier fox or longer haired coat.
