Joe
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/8131860.stm http://www.news.com.au/business/story/0,27753,25726897-462,00.html "Ruth Madoff has vacated the residence and surrendered all saleable personal property within the residence to the United States Marshals Service." ...In a deal agreed with prosecutors, Mrs Madoff agreed to give up any claims to $80m in assets and was left with $2.5m in cash. She also forfeited rights to $2.6m in jewellery, a mink coat valued at $12,500 and a Russian sable worth $36,000. I guess the rest were in storage already. But would I have kept the sable in the cedar closet? That's why they have big cardboard boxes marked "mixed recyclables" and unmarked black vans driven by ese who no ask question. Oh well. Witness the symbolism of the "luxury" apartment and the mink coats, pulled out of the journalistic vault for times like this. I always wonder where language like that went during bull markets past... ciaociao J.

Joe, and all, She's not the only one to have lost her furs in the scandal, as some of you may recall from my post over the winter. Indeed I nearly bought a Madoff-enforced sale fur but delayed my decision for too long. Oh well! http://thefurden.com/bbden/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=11611 Regards, Mr Mockle
White Fox
Brandy You would probably get it for thta. Maybe I am wrong but it might just go for even less than that when you consider the value of used furs. Depends on how they sell it, etc. If it suddenly appears on a sales sheet somewhere to be sold at auction the next week or two it will probably not bring much.
