Joe
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUXId6iD12A It's from last year, but Basso's designs never fail to disappoint. Anyone have fur weather yet, by the way?

Worker 11811
Smoking, by itself, is not a turn-on for me but someone who is already seductive can add to the effect if they smoke but only if they do it well. Someone who puffs like a choo-choo train is a major turn-off! But, if they take long, deliberate drags and exhale slowly, it can be very seductive! FurLoverinFL
When I lived in New Jersey, Basso had a lovely shop in the Short Hills Mall in Millburn. A great place to visit during lunch hour - although I'm sad to say that it has since closed. FLinFL
Joe
Oh man. I remember taking a spin through that mall in Dec. 2003 on my way home from a business trip. I couldn't find Dennis Basso...do you remember when he closed? I have visited his shop on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. When I went there, he was on Madison Avenue. I was wearing my f/l coyote coat and a leather western hat at the time...and almost bought a chinchilla scarf. Glad I didn't...a year later, a bigger stole found its way into my home from eBay for half Dennis' price. His store oozed pre-recessionary luxury. Now, during the early stage of the "stealth wealth" era, things are bound to me more back-door. I mean, there were private rooms where Missus Madoff could try on $100,000 sable coats to her heart's content. But now I have a feeling he's going to move (if he hasn't already...) to an appointment-only suite somewhere. This winter, there will be a lot more unemployed kids of my generation who will eschew soup-kitchen volunteering for screaming at fur-wearers...it's all I can do not to scream back. FurLoverinFL
I moved to Florida in 2005, Joe, it closed shortly before I came down here. So I'm thinking that the Basso shop closed in late 2004 or early 2005. It was located on the upper level between Macy's and Nordstroms' (I think). It's been years since I've been in that mall, I really don't remember what the anchor stores were... FLinFL
JGalanos
I did a little window shopping at the Basso store on Michigan Avenue (Chicago) Saturday. Some unusual pieces (reversibles, unusual colors, etc.) on display and on the racks. He has produced some superb garments over the years. don
Sorry for my ignorance--but does Basso deal in real or faux fur? I'll be in Chhicago next month, and will probably look him up regardless.
JGalanos
Actually, I think he does (or at least has done) both. All I've noticed in his North Michigan Avenue location is the (occasionally eye popping) real thing.
