What an absolutely amazing item! I've so much appreciation for he and Edison. We forget then when they were experimenting that they didn't have those big huge spiral wheels on that thing, or insulators to allow movement of electricity. They had to work all of that out and make it from scratch.

It looks to me like the weight of this machine is pretty well distributed. This might come in handy where I live, especially on ice-covered lakes. It seems a week doesn't go by without a report of someone's pick-up truck falling through the ice.

That didn't happen in the movie, but such stories still remind me of the ice fishing scenes in the original "Grumpy Old Men" movie. Pretty hard to beat!

Same thing happens here. Having grown up in the South, you would not catch me driving across a frozen lake or river.
