FurLoverinFL
Let's not criticize those who wear fur - even those who try to rationalize their way through life by saying 'it's a vintage coat' or 'the poor little animals were killed a long time ago'. I too wish a woman like this would simply admit that fur keeps her warm and she loves the way it looks on her and makes her feel. That would - no doubt - cause a firestorm amongst the politically correct types... so perhaps it's just more convenient to say what she did, no matter how silly it makes her sound. Cunning Fox
The article I thought was a bit crap, but it is interesting to read the comments. Not having counted, it seams as though more than half the comments were pro-fur a few sit on the fence types ('I don't have an opinion' but I'll voice it anyway) and significantly less than 50% anti-fur gits spouting the usual mistreatment of animals line in a well practiced chorus that totally ignores what is said by others. I however don't get the 'vintage fur is more ethical than new' debate. I have several second hand furs, simply because I can't afford to buy new, but when you get to the point in the pro-vintage argument that says 'it's o.k. because it's already dead' surely the same goes for a new fur coat. Afterall, I doubt very much that there has ever been a live fur coat made!
Lil Dragonfly
I however don't get the 'vintage fur is more ethical than new' debate. Afterall, I doubt very much that there has ever been a live fur coat made! Buying pre-owned or vintage fur does not contribute to the supply-and-demand chain of new fur. So in terms of effect on the fur industry, buying vintage fur is the same as boycotting fur altogether. Vintage-fur-only people know that the less new fur they buy, the less animals will be killed in fur farms and/or traps. I, on the other hand, insist on buying new fur whenever possible because fur farming and trapping are deforestation's #1 enemy. Hope this makes sense
Guest
http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/news?slug=ap-weir-fur&prov=ap&type=lgns Ridiculous controversy over a small tuft of fox fur. It annoys me how animal-rights activists keep repeating that fur-farmed animals are skinned alive. That simply isn't true, but they will tell any and all lies to further their agenda. Someone wrote this: << I suppose, they must beat and electrocute the foxes only when they are done skinning them alive, that way they can get the maximum sadistic satisfaction without damaging the pelt. Give me a break! I’m sure the so-called friends of the animals are just as vulnerable to criticism as Johnny is if someone were to mind their business and find out how they conduct their lives. I’m reminded how the Humane Society tried to shut down the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race in Alaska until it backfired on the them when it was discovered that the national president owned and raced thoroughbred horses. Skate on Johnny, pay no attention, and good luck.>> Tricia
FurLoverinFL
I guess it's easy to believe the lies one is told... particularly those that tug at one's heartstrings. FLinFL

White Fox
I thought so too. And there is absolutely nothing that the person can do but take it. If they complain to police, etc, then they admit that their tactics are wrong. Wish more people would do that. You know when you think about it. It would be interesting for someone to come up during a regular PETA demonstration and hit their clothing with paint wouldn't it. Just to see what they would do... Great to see you again "C"...
