grouchomg
I count nearly forty people that have joined The Fur Den since Jan 1. I'm one of them. I noticed, though, that fewer than a half dozen of us newbies have posted anything. Maybe some of us new members want to see if the site fits a need before posting, or watch the drift of the threads before saying anything here. Some may just be measured in their words, picking threads carefully. I suspect some members - old as well as new - view this site more for the gallery... nothing wrong with that. Me, I dove right in:!: The Den is a place to converse and interact, to contact and chat with people of like mind and for support in our fur love. I suspect that I will use chat and other social media to converse with some of you, but the Den is a place that I can come back to for new ideas and contacts. But I do wish that more new members would post.
Guest
As do the older members. But like you, new members can take this site anywhere they wish. That's what it's here for. OFF

fallguy68
Good evening all, have been a member for quite a while, have only posted a couple of times. I do not have any reason why I have not chimed in anymore, maybe my comfort level was not present. Though I do enjoy the site and everyones thoughts and opinions on all of the subjects that are discussed here. I hope everyone is enjoying the winter time here in the states!!!! White Fox
Fallguy... Great to hear posts such as yours as it helps us so much to know the thoughts of others out there. Without them the site could well die. We need new ideas. New thoughts. New blood as they say to keep the interest on the site going. Again, thanks for the post... JGalanos
I hope everyone is enjoying the winter time here in the states!!!! I think it has been a pretty good winter for fur wearing wherever you live in the US. I'm optimistic I'll have additional opportunities to wear my furs before the season ends. I'll be attending the symphony and the theater later this month and plan to wear my ranch mink and mahogany mink jackets respectively ... Unless it cools down enough to warrant something warmer/more dramatic (like silver fox!).
Worker 11811
I don't exactly know why so many people join up but don't post. One reason is that, in order to see the gallery, you have to join. So, I'm sure there are people who join just to see pictures but that doesn't explain why there are so many people who also browse the forums and don't post. We can only really guess. One hypothesis is that many people still think of fur strictly as a forbidden fetish. Consequently, they don't feel comfortable enough to talk in public for fear of being caught. Fur certainly is a turn-on but we try to make the Fur Den's mission to show people that's not all there is. Fur is warm and comfortable and stylish. It is also sexy and it makes me think of doing naughty things. I am a consenting adult over the age of 21. There's nothing wrong with getting hot and heavy with fur in the confines of my own home. Besides, do you have to get turned on in order to just "like" fur? No, you don't! If I like fur I don't have to explain it to anybody and nobody has the right to tell me what I can or can not like. Still, it seems like a lot of people hold on to the belief that having a fur fetish should be some kind of a deep, dark secret.
grouchomg
Still, it seems like a lot of people hold on to the belief that having a fur fetish should be some kind of a deep, dark secret. Agreed. This is so true of so many pleasures we secretly enjoy, as if we are the only ones that do so. So we think of our fetish as illicit and keep it in the closet, as I did for so long. It's good to have places like The Fur Den where we can be "out" and encouraged to enjoy and display this pleasure, that of fur, in public.
Worker 11811
Y'Know, maybe it's because of age or maybe it's because of experience but, in the last few years, I could care less what other people think. There are things I like and things I don't like. The same goes for others. They like and dislike some thing or other. Under most circumstances, I'm perfectly willing to let other people have their preferences. If our interests are the same... Wonderful! If not... That's too bad. The only times when I feel upset are when somebody is getting hurt or is doing something illegal or patently immoral. But, short of that, nobody has the right to tell somebody else what they should or should not like. So the bottom line is: If you like fur, come on in and join the party! If you don't like fur, close the door on your way out. If, for some reason, you feel the need to get in my face about it... Well, you can just kiss my a$$!
