JGalanos
Each season I store my fur coats, jackets, hats, and scarves. In the past couple years I have acquired fur lined and fur (exterior) gloves which I have kept at home over the summer months. Wondering if I should store all my fur accessories to protect them/extend their lives. My furrier stores the hats for free unless I request cleaning/glazing so I'm assuming the gloves could be stored for free as well. Just don't wanna look like an idiot taking them in if it would be a waste of time/inappropriate. Thoughts?
FurLoverinFL
Personally, I don't... I figure if a boa or two gets dried out, they're easy and inexpensive to replace. FLinFL
JGalanos
I figure if a boa or two gets dried out, they're easy and inexpensive to replace. At ~$100 per piece, I agree not overly expensive but figured if I could extend the life of each item a few seasons by storing them then why not (asked my Inner Cheapskate). At least one of the items is kinda unique and could be difficult to replace at anywhere near the original purchase price. Thus the question. JGalanos
Not much feedback, so I'll use my noggin'. I think I'll store my exterior fur gloves (new this season and the fur is visible) and leave my fur lined gloves (two seasons old and the fur is not visible) at home. I'll refer to it as the Furry Compromise.
JGalanos
Dropped off the gloves along with some other items ... Furrier had no issue storing the gloves (for free - yippee). When it comes to fur, more often than not I think going with your gut instinct is the best policy.
