FrBrGr
I remember the old tripod fur den from the late 90s, but I thought it vanished into obscurity! Good to see you back in action.xxx chesnut235 (leorising) Well, chestnut, you've got me on the "tripod" thing (I can't remember anything about "tripod") but The Fur Den has been around since 1993 in one form or another. I founded the original Fur Den, which was no more than a forum amongst many at Delphiforums and guided it through the merger with Melody O'Hair, and finally into its own identity and website, here at thefurden.com. The establishment of a standalone site, the current incarnation, was through the efforts of several very dedicated people, many of which are still a part of this amazing community. Growing "long in tooth," I "retired" a couple of years ago and turned the reins over to White Fox, who has done an amazing job as the Den's Owner and Chief Administrator ever since. If you (or anyone else) would like to look over the history of The Fur Den, it can be found in our wiki. I recommend that anyone wanting to read the entries in the wiki look at the upper left part of this page and click on "Wiki (Library)." There is a wealth of information in the wiki, and taking the circuitous route to reach the Den's history would be a good exercise to get to know the wiki better. On the other hand, if you want to go directly there, just click on this link: http://vdsden.thefurden.com/fdwiki/?n=History.Home Welcome back to the Den, chestnut! We hope you visit often and share your experiences and thoughts with us many times!
Guest
"tripod" was a hosting service offered by (lycos? yahoo?), I think mrs & mr b's barguzin fur page was on it too, and I think michael's soft spot. Anyway, I came across it in '98 which subsequently brought me "out of the closet" so to speak. Up to that point, I thought I was in a rather slim minority. Finding the NTC collection, for example absolutely blew my mind!! My life keeps me otherwise well occupied most of the time, so there are occasions when I'm away from the online fur community for months on end:( But I have the afternoon free today...so I'll have a longer look around here and toss in my 2¢ if moved to do so. happy holidays everyone C
White Fox
Got a laugh by the way when I read your message! some people would say we are still obscure! Anyhow, make sure you have a look through our links section. Think you might be surprised with what you see. Also, I think you might find our Gallery slightly larger than the photo areas of sites used to be back then. In short, think our little site can keep you busy for a good part of the day! So great to have you back again! W
