melbmarco
How long has Amazon been selling fur coats, plus hosting some great photos? http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dapparel&field-keywords=fur+coat&x=9&y=12 There really are some great images to be found. samurman
I guess this is the result of Amazon trying to become a central place for shopping. I knew they incorporated independent sellers for books and electronics, but I did not know about the extent of their clothins section. Some known sellers, though, such as Webfurs and fabulousfurs. The comments of the $46k Webfurs sable coat make hilarious reading: http://www.amazon.com/DRAMATIC-RUSSIAN-SABLE-COAT-22223/product-reviews/B00065Q9CW/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=
White Fox
Indeed, those are pretty unbelievable comments. From the young lass who's daddy bought her a $46,000 nutria coat to others who buy these unseen. I cannot believe that someone would just shell out $50,000 for something site unseen on the internet. I mean, for an extra thousand you could fly to them, and see the coat first hand and try it on to see if it would even fit! Find that truly unbelievable! Guest
BIG difference between eBay and amazon. They could have contacted Webfurs directly through eBay and avoided the scam of someone from the Ukraine piggy backing. OFF
mailonfurs
I had my own amazon store 2-3 years ago. The demand on furs there was too small (sold none) so I just closed it down. This marketplace was always for different things than fashion (books, cd's etc)
samurman
BIG difference between eBay and amazon. They could have contacted Webfurs directly through eBay and avoided the scam of someone from the Ukraine piggy backing. OFF Amazon has buyer protection mechanisms, too. In fact, my shopping experience at amazon has been much more pleasant than the one at ebay. I find it very very hard to believe in that Ukrainian nutria story. She might have returned the coat and asked for a refund, or she might have contacted amazon to solve the dispute. Either way, I don't think amazon would let a $46k scam go through.
