samurman
Elle MacPherson has recently been photographed wearing this black fur short jacket on two occasions; first on 19 January in Glasgow while filming an episode for Britain's Next Top Model, and then the next day, on 20 January while picking up her children from school in London. The sleeves look like fake, but then the body of the jacket may well be sheared or plucked mink. What do you think? I think the following pics show the fur best:
Worker 11811
I agree with you. The long, shaggy stuff is fake. However, I can't tell about the shorter fur on the body of the coat. It does have a grain to it like real fur and I don't see any seams in it but it's hard to tell. I can't imagine why somebody would make a jacket that's fake fur on top and real fur on the bottom. FrBrGr
I can't imagine why somebody would make a jacket that's fake fur on top and real fur on the bottom. Yes, it is puzzling, isn't it? But I agree - There are a couple of photos where the body of the jacket look like real fur. Darned if I can identify it, though. On the other hand, there are a couple of photos where that part of the jacket looks fake, too. One thing's for sure, IMHO - They're either both fake or they're both real. I've never heard of mixing real and fake together. Here's another thought about the sleeves - Maybe monkey fur?
Guest
I go for real based on Elle's reputation for real furs OFF
furup
looking at it I think its goat fur, that has been dyed black. I have had boots with long pile fur like that that were made from goat. It looks like it might be and the shorter pelt length are sheared areas of the same pelt. If you don't know what i mean I still have 1 boot that I can take a picture and post it here or email it.
