Reports in the Russian media suggest up to 15,000 animals have starved to death or were killed prematurely at a fur farm in Moscow.

A company near to the Pushkine District apparently had little food to feed its animals, following a money laundering operation by its previous director.

Indeed as you say, such things are not good for the industry. The industry does not do this sort of crap any more unless some individual goes off the deep end this way. They get blamed for it, but that is a bunch of BS. However, when a case actually happens it is not good at all. You would have thought fellow ranchers would have recognized that

The thing that bothers me most is that people have a tendency to paint everything with a broad brush. They'll take a specific instance of bad behavior and use it as an example to show how bad something is.

 

It's like saying that all cars are bad because some people drive drunk and cause accidents.

 

What I'd like to see is somebody from the fur trade come along and condemn the fur farm that is doing this.

Well, instead of a fur farm, it could have been an orphanage or animal rescue shelter that the mafia targeted... It's unfortunate indeed.
