Most folks here have feelings just like you! We certainly ALL have that extra love of fur, be it a fetish, or just a little extra love of wearing it or seeing someone else wear it! But, I also consider myself a person interested in the welfare of animals, and I think most folks here would. I know that some here have said that they don't and I respect them for speaking out. But many here agree with you.

It would be so easy if humans could just quit seeing animals or using them, but most folks don't realize the difficulties of that. Much of the organic food industry is based on animals for instance. Most indeed use the droppings of the animals. But even if they don't, they use the different clovers and grasses etc to feed them, that also put extra fertility back onto the soil for the organic industry. We are here on the earth, and we are at the top of our food chain. This does not however mean that we can whole heartedly kill or hurt animals for no reason. We would know that it is wrong to go out and kill all robins for instance. But is it wrong to go out and kill all germs that lead to a certain disease? Would it be wrong to wipe out Scarlet Fever for instance if it were running rampant in our region?

Anyhow, just a few random thoughts. With thoughts at the same time with that favourite lynx or blue fox, etc. ha ha

I very much care about animal welfare and I always feel I need to state this first as sometimes my comments may seam cold. When I visit THE FUR DEN I want to let go of my concerns and indulge in the sensual erotic world of fur.Truth be told, I will always feel a little sympathy for fur bearing animals but if it is not endangered, a trip to a furrier is fine with me! In a way I envy people who don't care about the animals fate. In fact I find it kind of refreshing. There were even some members that made comments on the subject that quite frankly turned me on. When I was young I remember seeing my "Animal loving" mom in a full length red fox fur coat and she made the comment "I don't care how many foxes it took to make this coat!" My fetish has had it's awkward moments FURsure but I still get that erotic thrill every time I hold my girlfriends full length Tanuki coat as she slips her body into it. I also love see people swathed in beautiful furs. Every time I hear someone say "I wear fur because it's warm" I always wonder if sometimes there is more to it. I like to think of the foxes that ended up as my aunts fur coat. They kept my aunt warm, my mom loved them and they kept her warm, They gave me a sensual moment. What a way to go!

I always envy so much those of you who grew up with relatives or family members who would wear fur! Especially the showy furs of a few years back! I sure wish that some of my relatives had been blessed with those same desires!

My aunt had two furs. The red fox coat and the infamous silver fox stole. My mom only borrowed the coat a couple of times for big events. My heart would pound when I heard those beautiful words "can I borrow the fur" I'm afraid I blew it because after the "event" with the silver foxes and the coat I became shy and even a little nervous around furs. I could not hide my "growing" affection for them so I missed out because I was to embarrassed to talk about it.

Still all part of the memories of people here I think. The love of furs. They shyness. etc. I don't think you "Blew it" at all on that front.

I was truly privileged/lucky to have been born in the 40’s and to have lived this long. Fur has always been at the center of my world. I have watched it fall out of fashion and come back into fashion. However I do not think it will ever be as prevalent as it once was.

When was the last time you saw a raccoon tail tied to a car’s antenna or motorcycle? In the 50’s most of my friends wore sheepskin jackets or sheepskin lined coats. All of my friends had sheepskin ball caps with fold down ear muffs. It was also very common for teenage boys to wear sheepskin storm pants over their jeans (looking back I wonder how much fur got ruined as my friends take pleasure with it during puberty). A number of my friends in middle/high school wore fur. One had a pullover, hooded parka the outside was badger fur and it was lined in sheer beaver (I was so jealous. I did talk him into a sleepover one night. I will let you imagine what happened to that lucky fur as it got to get pleasure from our who-has’). Raccoon coats were cheep and considered a trash fur in turn it was not at all unusual to see people wearing it to sporting events; spilling beverages and food on it, stressing the hell out of their fur as they cheered their team on, patting each other on the back, pushing through crowds and replaying the events that took place. No one cared if the fur got ruined unlike today.

My cousin was an avid hunter and he gave me a polar bearskin for my bedroom floor. Because I was a kid I did not appreciate that skin at all. It took about three years for me to ruin it with all kinds of bodily fluids, dirty shoes, playing on top of it with my friends, etc. The fur was not soft (like fox) but it was really thick, long, and felt fantastic under foot on a cold morning. God how foolish I was in my disregard for fur thinking things would never change and I would always have any type of fur at my disposal to use and trash as I saw fit. God how times have changed!

You've got words of wisdom, coyote 1, thanks for sharing them with us. I was born in the 70s and count myself lucky to have lived through the roaring 80s. Life is short and we've got to enjoy the present and look forward to the future in expectation...
