MrLynx
Post your favorite song lyrics from your favorite songs here. Here is one of my favs Crossing that bridge, With lessons I've learned. Playing with fire, And not getting burned. I may not know what you're going through. But time is the space, Between me and you. Life carries on... it goes on. Guest
The distant echo of far away voices boarding far away trains to take them home to the ones that they love and who love them forever The close dirty steps reflect my thoughts and repeat my own headlines of death and sorrow they tell of tomorrow's mad men on the rampage and I'm down in the tube sation at midnight I put in the money and pulled out the Queen Smiling beguiling whispers in the shadows gruff brazen voices hating , waiting Hey boy they shout Have you got any money and I say "I've a little money and a take away curry and I'm on my way home to my wife She'll be lining up the cutlery you know she's expecting me polishing the glasses and pulling out the cork" And I'm down in the tube station at midnight I first felt a fist and then a kick I could now smell their breath They smelt of pubs and wormwood scrubs and too many right wing meetings The smell of brown leather it mingled in with the weather as it filled my eyes ears nose and mouth it drowned all my senses till I could speak hear feel any longer Dont want to go down in the tube sation at midnight The last thing that I saw as I lay there on the floor was "Jesus saves" written by some aetheist nutter and a British Rail poster read "Have an away day, a cheap holiday, a do it today I said I was down in the tube station at midnight The wine will be corked and the curry's gone cold Or something like that. Few bits i've missed out, but you get the picture.Written before Paul Weller went mad and started writing about pebbles on the beach and wild woods which he clearly doesnt know the first thing about. But the Jam, they were great. Just goes to show that he was nothing without Foxton and Buckler. But this was a first class damning indictment of urban life. Earendil
Now that she's back in the atmosphere With drops of Jupiter in her hair, hey, hey She acts like summer and walks like rain Reminds me that there's time to change, hey, hey Since the return from her stay on the moon She listens like spring and she talks like June, hey, hey Tell me did you sail across the sun Did you make it to the Milky Way to see the lights all faded And that heaven is overrated Tell me, did you fall for a shooting star One without a permanent scar And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there Now that she's back from that soul vacation Tracing her way through the constellation, hey, hey She checks out Mozart while she does tae-bo Reminds me that there's room to grow, hey, hey Now that she's back in the atmosphere I'm afraid that she might think of me as plain ol' Jane Told a story about a man who is too afraid to fly so he never did land Tell me did the wind sweep you off your feet Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day And head back to the Milky Way And tell me, did Venus blow your mind Was it everything you wanted to find And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there Can you imagine no love, pride, deep-fried chicken Your best friend always sticking up for you Even when I know you're wrong Can you imagine no first dance, freeze dried romance five-hour phone conversation The best soy latte that you ever had and me Tell me did the wind sweep you off your feet Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day And head back toward the Milky Way Tell me did you sail across the sun Did you make it to the Milky Way to see the lights all faded And that heaven is overrated Tell me did you fall for a shooting star One without a permanent scar And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself And did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day And did you fall for a shooting star Fall for a shooting star And are you lonely looking for yourself out there --------------- Train - Drops of Jupiter
s1m17
Not my favourite (I don't have a favourite anything). But at this moment in time I like them. Please can you stop the noise, I'm trying to get some rest From all the unborn chicken voices in my head What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but not an android) What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but not an android) When I am king, you will be first against the wall (with) your opinion which is of no consequence at all What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but no android) What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but no android) Ambition makes you look pretty ugly Kicking, squealing gucci little piggy You don't remember You don't remember Why don't you remember my name? Off with his head, man Off with his head, man Why don't you remember my name? I guess he does... Rain down, rain down Come on rain down on me From a great height From a great height... height... Rain down, rain down Come on rain down on me From a great height From a great height... height... Rain down, rain down Come on rain down on me That's it sir You're leaving The crackle of pigskin The dust and the screaming The yuppies networking The panic, the vomit The panic, the vomit God loves his children, God loves his children, yeah! Guest
If you don't care what happened to me, And I don't care for you, We would zig zag our way through the bordom and pain, Occasionally glancing up through the rain' Wondering which of the buggers to blame And watching for pigs on the wing. Guest
Pink Floyd's "Amimals". I conclusion: (Part Two) You know that I care about what happens to you, And I know that you care for me, So I don't feel alone, Or the weight of the stone, Now that I've found somewhere safe To bury my bone, And any fool knows a dog needs a home, A shelter from pigs on the wing. Fox
Not my favorite, but these are pretty good lyrics. I love you, Goodbye I would never normally go bowling On a friday morning in New Orleans But I like to come here to remember The kind of places you took me Like the time we stole a Datsun And drove all night to the everglades Until we crashed it in a big electric storm And stood there listening to the bayou rain The county sheriff had a hair - lip Louisiana's pride and joy He said politley as he cuffed me I never busted an English boy ... But I will accept a contribution To the Opelousas' Charity Ball But you better drive this dirty Datsun Into the Gulf of Mexico Under a Cajun moon I lay me open There is a spirit here that won't be broken Some words are sad to sing Some leave me tongue-tied (But the hardest thing to tell you ) But the hardest words I know Are I love you goodbye I love you goodbye Typhoon Pierre delayed my plane till morning (Jusqu'au matin) Let the bontemps rouler from your accordion (L'accordien) Under a cajun moon I lay me open (Y a un esprit partout) There is a spirit here that won't be broken (Simple words are sad to sing Some words are sad to sing (They leave me tongue-tied) Some leave you tongue-tied (But the hardest thing to tell you my friend) But the hardest words I know (Is I love you goodbye) Are I love you goodbye (Je t'aime, au revoir) I love you goodbye (Je t'aime, toujours) I love you, goodbye -Thomas Dolby
Guest
How Does It Feel How does it feel runnin' around round round how does it feel watchin' from upside down 'cos many years from now there will be new sensations and new temptations How does it feel How does it feel right at the start and how does it feel when you are thrown apart 'cos many years from now there will be new elations and new frustrations Chorus How does it feel? Oh! Oh! Do you know know know what it's like to be searchin' in your own time all your attempting experimenting all on the climb do you know know know what it's like to be searchin' and suddenly find all your illusion, all your confusion all left behind How does it feel turnin' away and how does it feel facing another day 'cos many years from now there will be newer poisons and new horizons 'cos many years from now there will be new tomorrows and still some sorrows Holder/Lea SLADE

s1m17
Yes I agree, and believe that England should adopt it as it's national anthem in honour of the Queen's Birthday.
