samurman Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Divine Elegance - Photographer Bo Brinkenfalk capturess model Astrid (MIKAs) for this ultra glamorous story for Schön Magazine. Styled by Gordana Zlatanovic, Astrid wears an extravagant mix of dramatic hats, furs and skirts paired with strong shouldered jackets and statement colors. Astrid’s striking make-up harkens back to classic 1940s glamour, with strong, arched brows and a subtle cat eye.
Worker 11811 Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 The hats are over the top but I still like the first pic the best. The only thing is that she is really thin. I mean she's REALLY thin. If she turns sideways she'll barely even cast a shadow! Other than that GREAT PICS!
ew19975 Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I thought 'thin' was the in fashion model thing these days? ....yes, too thin is a bit unrealistic for most women... Most of the hats seem to fall more as a fashionable accessory, or visual statement, rather than a piece of functional headwear, in my opinion. To each their own, I guess... The 1st, 5th, and 9th photo are the ones that attract my attention.
samurman Posted November 2, 2011 Author Posted November 2, 2011 The hats are over the top but I still like the first pic the best. I may have mixed up the order of the pictures, but there is a reason the first pic is the first pic:) Other than that GREAT PICS! Indeed! The photographer and the stylist have captured the elegance of the 40s and the 50s perfectly. Even the background props remind of the magazines of the period.
White Fox Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 It always gets me how they have a fashion show of items that are not even meant for sale. Just dreams of the designer. I remember one tv announcer commenting one time on how a woman at a fashion show actually was wearing a dress from another show. A dress that was never meant to be worn. Did she not know that? He was almost making fur of her to a certain extent for actually WEARING a dress from a fashion show. I think these hats are the same. Dreams of the designer. But nothing more. Never meant to really be worn in public other than that fashion runway show. Or MAYBE some very, very, very high class event at a raceway or something such. W
