Great job, glad you finally got a fur, so you are no longer furlessinCA. Hopefully your wife would e coming around. At least she did not tell you to take it off when you had it on in the house..

I uploaded pictures of me in my new jacket. They should be in the "Last Uploads" section. They are named "Furless' jacket 1" and so forth.

I don't like the hood on the jacket. It looks too gangster, though it is warm.

Lastly, one of my female students thought my jacket looked like a "pimp coat" and why on earth would I wear soemthing like that. While a male grad student offered to buy it as soon as he saw it (of course my wife hearing this told me to sell it). He commented that it would be great for going out to the bars.

Hope you enjoy! I am!

FUR IN MAY??

I actually wore my fur on April 27th (I know NOT May) to walk my dog here in NorCal. The temps were in the mid 40's (you folks in the east and/or north don't laugh, I'll use ANY excuse to wear the fur). At any rate, I figured it was "chilly" so I wore it. Frankly if I got my sorry ass out of bed this morning around 6:00, I could have worn the fur to walk my dog, and it's MAY! Tht weather does not last long for wearing fur though. Around here, it warms up to the 70's or 80's by about noon or so.

Time for the fur to go into storage (and yeah, my wife got pissy over the fact that I have PAY for storage... her comment was something like "that damn fur is going to continually haunt me.") I don't think getting HER a fur will solve the problem, I think it is a "spending money" thing. Mind you, we just got a new (used) car and the car payments are about $300 a month. But that doesn't count! Go figure...

Thanks for listening (or reading, as the case may be).

PS I think I have a new saying. "When in doubt, wear the fur!"

I think I have a new saying. "When in doubt, wear the fur!"

I tend to agree with that sentiment although I usually set my upper temp limit for wearing fur around the freezing point.

It's better to have a gun but not need it than to need a gun but not have it.

When going outdoors into the weather, I consider where I am headed and how long I'll be out when deciding what to wear.

If I'm going to be out in the woods in the middle of winter, I would dress differently than if I was only running outside to get the mail, even if the weather conditions were exactly the same.

If I'm outdoors, away from home, I probably won't have the opportunity to go back and get a heavier jacket if I get too cold. I would likely take a fur with me, even if I thought I might not need it. I could always take it off and carry it or put it in the car. If I got cold and needed extra warmth, going home to get my fur would likely be out of the question.

Therefore:

It's better to have a fur but not need it than to need a fur but not have it.
