furrybob
We are off to Northern Norway in March next year, and have been advised to take warm clothing. I will be wearing my new MINK lined leather coat with layers of cashmere, silk and (more) fur. My wife will taking the option of wearing ski wear. Who is making the correct decision? furup
hi Bob I know its you. My impression of ski wear is warm, but meant for somebody who is active and therefore generating more heat. Therefore ski wear is lighter and may not keep the wearer warm when inactive i.e. waiting for a bus. You may be loaning your wife your top coat to keep her warm. Aldhissla
Well, I'd say compromise and take some fur/s with you. You never know what the temperature will be and you won't feel overdressed and warm if the temperature is higher than expected. But having said that, of course the one who wants to wear fur is always right!
furrybob
I intend to wear the following:- SILK long johns & SILK vest. Wool & cotton shirt. 6 ply CASHMERE and MINK zipped jumper. MINK gilet. This a full MINK coat that I had the sleeves removed. (It also has a very small collar) MINK coat reversable to (napa) leather. SABLE (MINK lined) hat (ushanta style) with ear flaps long double CHINCHILLA scarf. long knitted SABLE scarf. small SABLE scarf worn under my MINK gilet. Do you think that will be enough as I expect the temperature to be about -20 deg C
