White Fox
I know that there is on chat but I am not sure it is a time out as much as an error. We are hoping an upcoming update might help that. From there on up to our tech folks to reply.
AKcoyote
I will have to check the setup parameters in chat. The situation *sounds* like an inactivity timeout.. I cannot locate an inactivity timeout in the forums other than a 5 minute limit on inactive users appearing in the Who is Online section of the forums index page. However there is no indication I have found that this timeout will logout the inactive user from the forums. That does not mean an automated logout is not occurring - just that I have not found any documentation indicating a logout does or does not occur. AKcoyote
The only time parameter in chat is a 6 second refresh delay to reduce server load.
ozfurlova
I've seen a few people receive "time out" evictions from the chatroom. At a guess, I'm suspecting a link to inactivity on the person being responsible (i.e. if you sit there and say or do nothing for more than 30 mins, it forcibly escorts you out). That said, I've also had people I've been chatting with turfed out in the middle of a conversation too. Hopefully the next update might address that too. White Fox
We do need to do an update of our chat for sure. However, our tech crew has been working non stop here for a couple of weeks now. It IS on our list. But it will probably be a short while yet. We are hoping that will solve the problem. There is also the possibility that someone will find another chat in the mean time that will work even better here with tabs telling when folks are in there, etc. We are hoping a member will find a better one and that is part of the reason this has not been done yet. AKcoyote
I am reasonably sure it is a timeout situation, but I am not sure what piece of software is responsible. Not only chat, but the forums software, gallery software, and the wiki software all need to be updated to current releases.
