Guest Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 http://petitemortfur.com/ This woman makes high-end fashion items from animals hit by automobiles in the US. Personally, this sounds like a wonderful idea. The animal is dead anyway so why not use its fur. Of course, many of the pelts will have significant damage.
Marcel Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I have been thinking about this, but there is not much left then i hit one. I was very close hitting a moose once and that had been nasty.
Guest Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 If you had hit that moose with your car, you might be dead and buried right now.
pnwhist Posted April 5 Posted April 5 (edited) I know this thread is super old but I didn’t care to create a new thread when the topic is very related. Came across a super fresh roadkill this morning on the way home - a decent sized raccoon that looked perfectly intact (at least externally) and it’s coat was immaculate. so, the short answer answer would be, yes - based on the quality of the fur. However, you’re looking at a bunch of similar patterned roadkill in order for the pelts to match. Wouldn’t know the first thing to do though in terms of processing it into a pelt even if I was tempted to somehow bring it back. Does a taxidermy service do this as a side service?
