I am usually pretty good at identifying furs, but this coat has me stumped. What is Jennifer Lopez wearing? It's either Russian lynx belly or bobcat belly.

I could be wrong, but it looks like bobcat.

NOW,I have a Q. whats the diff. between what they call a snow leopard and the other two? as far as look and feel.

"She has several." She ain't Jenny from the block no more, that's for damn sure. Parading around in expensive furs. Who's she trying to fool?

Reaching back into my memory.. like the 70's *shudder*.. am I really THAT old??... Went to an estate fur auction preview as was my habit. All the furs were owned by one lady and of course from that time were mainly minks. BUT there were two furs that caught my eye:

1) a blue fox (why is no-one surprised?) knee length coat... that wasn't all that great to my way of thinking, and

2) a snow leopard coat. From memory, it wasn't soft, nor was it course but it was shortish haired and well, different, but it was more the colouring that was attractive.

Side bar: Attended the auction and was sitting next to a couple that had seen me wearing the blue fox and they urged me to buy it. Well, the wife did LOL. Even the "model"/sales assistant seemed to be gazing at me, tempting me to open my wallet (little did she know the paucity of it at the time *sigh*). I forget what prices they went for, but.. have seen and worn far better blue fox coats since, but never a snow leopard.

hope this counts, AK *grin*

I'm intrigued how you got these facts.

Are there any pictures of her apartment?

I think these are made-up facts. I need to see photos for proof.

The bright white colours and distinct markings suggest high quality pelts and Russian lynx sticks out as the likely candidate.

I think Russian lynx belly. The white-black contrast is too stark and whites are too bright and I think only the topmost Russian lynx belly can give that.

Here is a video of J Lo in that coat:

How on earth do you know this? Fascinating! I want her bedspreads (and her, with them!) (I suspect that Yoko Ono also has a huge fur collection -- the buying habits of her and her late husband are well-documented)

I was surprised to read about a snow leopard coat up for auction, although it was years ago -- nowadays the animals are rare that no one ever sees them! I doubt any furrier would make a coat with the skins, even if asked: they are highly protected. Same thing with African leopards.

If it's on the CITES list, it's illegal
