furlvman1
That is guanaco fur which is a relative of the alpaca, llama, and vicuna. Vicuna is the softest, followed by alpaca (especially baby), guanaco, then llama.

Marcel
was guanaco fur common in the 60's?

lynxette
Good to know, as I would have said this was red fox based upon the collar and cuff edges. This does not look like the Alpacas I have seen.
RonGav
The point is the baby is cuddled in fur from an early age. How could he/she ever NOT love fur?
lynxette
Of course, that is the most important aspect, and the picture is adorable. I am now realizing though, that this type of fur was much more prevalent than I was aware, particularly in Europe during the 70's and 80's. fursince63
I find the photo adorable, but the dog looks a little nervous around our fur wearing mom!
minkme
Hey, it looks like the baby does not have a diaper on. Might be dangerous.
lynxette
Personally, I would want to have some protection for the furs from accidents.
