Hi all,

I'm planning an trip to Norway this summer.

And I'm wondering if anyone knows some interesting furriers to visit, in the aria of Oslo and Bergen?

Thx in advance.

Hello

Sad to say, Norway is not a great place for shopping furs, at all. Mostly all of the few furriers have closed down in the last twenty years.

If you were to come in winter, you would be able to shop for fur trimmed and fur lined coats and parkas, as they are everywhere when the weather is cold. But as for actual fur coats, you only have one shop in Bergen (Gullaksen) and another one at Bryggen selling cheap mass produced fur items at outragous prices to tourists. In Oslo you have Atelier Henry Phillip, and Isaksen Pels.

Wow, Hard to believe. I saw "ladies of London last year and they went to Denmark and there was fur everywhere. They stop at a Furrier and one lady made a purchase.

I'll will pay them an visit, but will be aware of you good advice 'Norwegian lynx'

Thought that because its an land where the winters are cold, there should be more furriers present.

Yes, you really would think so, but here as elsewhere in the West, there has been a steep decline in fur wearers and fur salons due to the anti-fur movements.

Recent years though have seen a reversing of the trend, but mostly through the work of the major designer houses and fashion making fur and accessories more mainstream and acceptable again. Maybe in a few years we will see some new shops opening up again!

Have Elsa wear a fur in the upcoming Frozen Christmas special. That should help, in Norway and elsewhere.
