I will look into it, but I think it is how the gallery software was designed.

The thumbnails displayed on the album index page canNOT be made clickable. However the thumbnail images in the display of an album's contents can be clickable and have been changed to be so.

 

Please let me know if this change causes any issues.

We (the admins) DO respond to reasonable change requests. But we will not tolerate unreasonable and non-specific demands for changes. This was an example where a member alerted us to an issue with the user interface of a component of the site. We investigated and found that changing a configuration option was all that was needed to improve the member experience. Please do not hesitate to mention something that is an issue. We will not always be able to improve the situation, but we cannot improve the website if we are not informed there is an issue. This forum is for your feedback along with asking any questions about the site.
